The National Trust parks and gardens have now opened in Herefordshire so we booked our tickets and went to Berrington. By the time we booked we didn't have much choice of the available time slots. In fact we got the first slot and were there as the gates opened. We were first in. It was wonderful, so quiet and peaceful as we walked through the park and round the lake.
These geese were all snoozing on the grass but they got up as we approached and one by one went into the water. I felt quite guilty for disturbing them. They seemed to be several families with almost fully grown goslings.
Quite a gathering, looks like a popular holiday spot for the birds.
