Aquarium

From the first roll of 35mm film I have shot using my new (vintage) Konica FC-1.. You never know with these old cameras until you shoot your first roll, if the shutter mechanism is going to be working properly, if they are going to have light leaks, if the built in light meter is still going to be accurate or if they are going to work at all.

Looks like this is working just fine.

So that is another charity shop bargain to add to my vintage camera collection.

I'm never quite sure about the boundaries between being an enthusiast or being a collector...... or having an all consuming irrational obsession.........

I'm convincing myself that 12 vintage 35mm film cameras still counts as a collection........ So I'm safe..... at least until my next tour around the charity shops.

I'm trying very hard to ignore the fact that I own 13 tripods, which does suggest an element of obsessive behaviour. :)

Very nice shot.
My son likes to use a film camera and also looks for cameras in the charity shops.

Nice one. Not sure that you are showing signs of obsessiv behaviour just yet, another eight cameras and seven tripods and you will be there :-)

Super image!!
Every couple of years, I pull out my old Nikon FM2, load a roll of film and start shooting. But I never seem to finish the roll before falling back to the immediacy of digital.

@lsquared The thing I'm finding frustrating is that the 8x10" prints I'm producing look amazing...... but I'm still struggling with is finding a means of getting these shots into a digital format without taking all the depth, clarity and warmth out of them. This particular shot looks so much better on nice glossy Ilford photographic paper. I've tried negative scanners, taking a digital shot of the print and I've even scanned the prints at super hi resolution on a flatbed scanner. But sadly nothing comes close to the original; print.

@sgtpepper Just give me time Alf........ Although I am struggling to find a good reason why I need any more tripods.

I went through a couple of months where every charity shop I went in had a really good tripod for sale for a tenner. You just can't resist bargains like that can you. :_

This is superb, has that real aged quality to it. Just think, some folk would spend hours trying to recreate that finish in Photoshop:)
