FLW Design Elements

Another from our Oak Park meetup in Frank Lloyd Wright territory. The elements of his work are so distinctive, alone and in combination. This is the entry to the house at 218 Forest Ave. Doorway is off-center and conveys privacy, while all the lines, from windows to railings to walls are well defined.
Thanks as always for your lovely comments! Always appreciated!
A cool shot. Like all the lines.

Love FLW houses! He was sooooo ahead of his time. I think I turned all my students into fans.
Love the way you captured all the lines. I think he arranged his (and his families) life around his lines. In a good way.
Missed Oaks Park last time I was in Chicago, definitely on my list next time - whenever that will be.

Wonderful lines, leading the eye towards the central arched doorway, charmingly littered with leaves. Another wonderful architectural site in Chicago! ;) (hint).

Ditto to above and it's a treat to see a FLW structure that looks lived in, instead of the usual perfect architectural porn style.

I knew, when I saw you snapping this entryway, that you would find just the right way to process and share this shot in a manner distinctively yours even though it's FLW architecture! Fantastic!

FLW was the master of leading lines because the emphasis was on the horizontal, and how to tie it all together. I love the off center entryway at the end of this impressive archway! Great composition!
