No idea how I did this, but it started with a stained glass window, imported to PS and then using the directions in the Twirl tutorial I found online. Then edited in LR and then exported back to PS (for no real reason other than I was fiddling around). Then clicked 3D and then moved the 'camera' around somehow, and then couldn't figure out how to get the cursor back except by saving, so saved and then back to LR for some final tweaks of lighting. But the 3D thing in the middle? No idea how to replicate. It was fun...wish I could say I had a plan in mind! But what better way to spend Friday night?
Thank you for sending the St Louis Cathedral pews to TT this week. Really appreciated! Especially thanks to Rosie who took me there!
Very impressive effort Taffy. Quite understand your problem in not remembering how you got to the end effect, happens to the best of us. Well done for venturing into the 3D world, I haven't been game yet.
Seriously fun to look at, and isn't experimenting (otherwise known as "messing around") addictive? Totally unrecognizeable as a stained glass window and more art than photography -- Yee Haw! FAV
I love it. I did a couple of twirling photos a while ago and I have got an idea in my head for a creative version of twirling too, but not got time at present to play with it. My idea isn't as creative as this though. Very impressive. fav.
congratulations on the TT as well and thanks for letting me know that my Forgotten Songs is on the TT too. I very rarely check it out, so it is good that people let me know if any of my photos are on there. It always surprises me when they are.
Beautiful twists and turns . But what really haunts me is the dark centre with the two entwined bright circles -they pop at me and entice me to search further in !! my imagination getting carried away once again !! lol --A big FAV
It's great to play isn't it! fantastic processing and a Fav Congrats on TT- we shall have a lot to learn when we come to Chicago but it sounds as though you will be a great teacher
Oh, this is fun! I have never tried the 3D filter, but this result makes me very curious. Looks great. Congrats on the TT, too. Very happy that our adventure resulted in that shot. :)
@nicoleterheide I spent a lot of time today trying to reconstruct. I still don't know exactly how I'm doing it, but at least now I know where some of the controls are! @salza
And of course, thank you so much for your visit and comments!
Wow I missed this fab image. I have no idea how you created this but I love it!! I tried to do some PS editing today and when I clicked Edit in PS a white screen came up with details of my other editing programs and I was unable to get rid of it. I think that shows the difference in your PS skills and mine!! LOL!! I still cannot get into PS!! Fav for this fab creation!!
@jgpittenger Hooray!!!! Happily!!! I'm gone tomorrow and Monday in Buffalo (and hoping Niagara Falls for a few hours) but anytime later in the week. You would need to know this is totally trial and error after the twirls bit!
I love what you are doing. I have not used any of the 3D tools or effects yet in photoshop, but I did do some editing in PS from LR. I didn't understand smart objects, so I went to Adobe.com and listened to 5 or 6 minute tutorial and found that basically you can do your LR tweeks in photoshop if you use a smart object. Saves all the closing and re-opening. Adobe has some amazing tutorials to get you through the basics.
