Junko and I did a quick trip down to the harbor where I'd done the pano a few days ago, to do more panos. More to come with mine, but looking out to the lake with my back to the city skyline, I was struck by this lone (crazy) photographer standing on the ice, one slip away from falling with his camera into the lake! I hope he got a great set of shots for braving that! Junko and I were on the stairs leading down, using the railing to brace ourselves and staying away from the sheet of ice below. The snow did sparkle, but I added the starbursts where the twinkles were and at the lighthouse, using a Topaz plug-in.

Crikey, he was taking a helluva risk out there. This is a fabulous photo, the added starbursts give the image a lot of zing and a rather mysterious feeling. I like it very much.
woooo! i wouldn't subject my camera to that risk, once you fall in, it will be a miracle if you get out of it alive. but then it gave you a fabulous photograph, didn't it? aces!
All I saw when I came to photo were these amazing starbursts. I did not notice the photographer till I started reading what you wrote. What a wonderful photo. So cool in B&W, Taffy. FAV
What a beautiful image! I love what you have done with the starbursts! Is this a new Topaz plug in? I don’t think I can do that! That photographer must be mad to take such a risk! Stupid to take such chances for a photo! Fav for this gorgeous image!
Great processing and addition of the starbusts. Fantastic night shot too. I can understand his excitement - this happens to me when i'm out trying to capture a giant wave
@pamknowler It's not a new plug-in, but was part of a package I had bought last year. The starbursts can be pretty ridiculous, but sometimes they do add to the scene. They are fun to work with.
OMG, that photographer looks nuts! Still, you got a lovely night capture... it feels as cold as a moon-scape. The sparkles are fun and add a nice touch.
