One more Zoo scene from Dec 12th's brief visit. At first I was disappointed that the lioness was indoors and the cage bars were so prominent. But, that's this lioness's life. I wondered what she was thinking as she stared at me. Because the zoo was closing, I was the only one in this exhibit area so we literally had locked eyes. She was majestic to see so close and in solitude.
Magnificent beast. I guess for some this is the only way they will ever get to see one of these wonderful cats. I'm spoilt by being able to see lion in the wild!
Oh these kind of shots always make me sad, to see animals behind the bars. I bet she was indeed dreaming of African and freedom. Those bars fascinate me, they look somehow like they would be added there afterwards
Interesting bars....it really makes her feel like a prisoner. I hate the sadness in their eyes, and I always try to lock eyes with them, too, and understand what they are feeling. They are such beautiful animals...
Lovely animal. I really like the colours of this shot. I like the bars too. You are right, they tell about the lioness' life making the shot more interesting and descriptive. Plus, I do like the effect added by the lines
