I picked up three sunflowers at the farmers market this morning with plans to photograph them throughout the day in keeping with the August book club exercises for week 2 (identify an emotion and then try to capture it). To be honest, I didn't know what emotion I'd try to capture, but I had ideas for anthropomorphizing these flowers. I had massive attempts, some shots I liked, but none that I felt conveyed any feeling (I know, we're supposed to decide on the emotion in advance...I just was going with 'feelings'). While Jim and a neighbor watched the Bears game, I decided to do one last photo shoot at sunset. I carried the sunflowers down to the beach (they'd been down there a few other times today in my not successful shots) one more time. I was framing the setting sun when I noticed the leaves forming a heart -- snapped the shot and then hurried to download with fingers crossed. Ta-da! A nice way to end the day!
IF interested, the 'start of day' photo is in my main album: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-08-15.
Fav! I love everything about this, the sunset, the silhouettes and the heart! Yes I needed a little help from google too, lol, I was familiar with the comsept of anthropomorphizing" but not with the word.
It might not fit the Freeman exercise per se, but I think you gave yourself a nice challenge and came out with an unexpected but lovely picture after all. Very pretty!
What a great way to end your attempt at capturing an emotion . . . with the added bonus of the flowers cooperating with a heart to show! Lovely silhouette.
I've to google this word.'tho "anthropomorphizing"-:)
