For black & white Wednesday, a slightly different view of the beaver's lodge One more hike to Millers Marsh late afternoon with our visiting friends, Mark and Ellen. We did the loop and spent some time at the beaver lodge that is in the lake directly in front of the little channel leading into the photo. There really are beavers on Beaver Island! Beavers use their lodge year after year. Just behind where I took this photo, you can see 3 trees with fresh beaver teeth marks and a bunch of tree chips on the ground. Mixed among these are downed trees and tree stumps with classic beaver cutting shape (little cones at the top of the stump).
It was a fairly dramatic weather day - never rained but we had amazing clouds and strong winds. It felt more like October than August!
Another view, in color, in my main album: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-08-14
I like the b&w too, dramatic, but not quite as dramatic as the lilac clouds. Beavers in beaver island, would be cool to see those but they probably are not that easy to capture.
@busylady Thanks for the fav, Judith! I do like b&w a lot and the silver efex software is wonderful to work with in post processing. That's what has really helped me do a better job than I used to.
Thanks so much for your viewing and support! Kim, thanks especially for the fav.
