Follow the Trees to the Lake by taffy

Follow the Trees to the Lake

Taken along Lake Michigan yesterday, near Chicago's planetarium. Processed for high key b&w for what has turned into my Black and White January challenge.
Main album: skyline at sunset - http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-01-27
Overflow: macro-monday Danbo and his camera - http://365project.org/taffy/special-photos/2014-01-27
Great lines, perfect processing!

Cool how they frame the bottom of the pic!...high key looks great.....looks cold!

The high key effect blurs the line between the sky and the foreground but the line of trees leads my eye toward the horizon. Love it!

Nice photo. I like the black and white photo and the trees, which all appear to be holding hands (branches).

That line of trees is beautiful. Are you joining in with the book club black and white month in Feb or have you had enough?

Beautiful as an abstract as well as a landscape.
January 28th, 2014
A nice gentle curve of trees, and the bare hillside is a place for the eye to stop.

Great eye line. I'm really enjoying your B&W challenge for the month. And, six word titles!

Neat way to use leading lines without an actual line!

@rachelwithey I didn't mean to do b&w this month but it just sort of happened. What I'm hoping is that the practice puts me in a good position to get a lot from the book club next month, so I'm going to try to keep going, but post in my main album rather than the challenge one. There's something about b&w that I feel pushes me to think in advance about contrast, form, structure, and texture, in ways that I don't seem to attend to when I'm planning for color. Are you going to participate in b&w bookclub as well?
January 29th, 2014
Yes I'm planning to. Sounds like my kind of challenge and one of my aims for this year was to join in with more of the challenges.
