Word for today is 'walk' so I created this collage to capture the feeling of walking in the secret garden created by Macy's, apparently at their flagship stores in several cities around the U.S. Nancy @nanm uploaded one from NYC. Here are a few from Chicago of the same major figure. In Chicago, this is what you see as you enter through some lovely arches, on the 9th floor of what used to be the Marshall Fields building (and will remain so for many Chicagoans, regardless of who now owns it). To give Macy's their due, it really is quite a beautiful exhibit with impressive gardens represented different areas of the world (e.g., China, England, France) and different styles (conventional to surreal).
This is so imaginative, Taffy. It's kind of Christmassy, too, with all that red. I really like the way you've linked the colours across the whole collage.
Absolutely beautiful. The spring flower show is the best show of the year. During the last few years they had downgraded the Christmas show. Is the Christmas show still fabulous in Chicago.
@nanm I've never gone to their xmas show -- part of my strike against Macy's for changing the name totally away from Fields -- but I admit that now that I've seen the flower show, I'm going to have to check out their winter exhibits!
