For ONS7 I had fully intended to take a night shot outside, but best laid plans...So, instead this is an indoor night shot taken at the performance by Mavis Staples, a legendary member of the Staples family. Her roots are in gospel, her family participated in the Civil Rights marches and sit ins with Martin Luther King, She sang one of the songs they sang at a restaurant when they were refused service in the 1960s, with the police called to get them out, not protect them. She was truly amazing. Song from the sit-in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn24qs98H8o.
On another note: Thank you all so much for getting my b&w staircase onto TT this week. I'm so honored and appreciative. I'm unable to do much in the way of posting or commenting for the next several days as we are gearing up for our company's leadership retreat which is always interesting and worthwhile, but leaves no time for much of anything personal. So, see you all in about a week, or sporadically as time permits during that time.
Thanks again! Have a good holiday weekend for all celebrating Easter or Passover.
I love the delightfully expressive moment you captured here! Retreats can be very uplifting and motivating...I hope you'll get plenty out of it! Have an excellent holiday weekend.
Great concert shot! These are often hard to capture with all manner of stage lights and no cameras allowed in many venues. Happy Passover Taffy and enjoy your retreat!
