A rainy day on the island, cleaning for fall closing, and company for dinner, so no time for much photography. Only photos from today are of dinner or of turkeys on the beach so decided to focus instead on processing photos from Japan trip as I really want to get the book together. For this one, I'm blatantly imitating Peter @pdulis and Michael @michaelelliott -- going light and for details. Michael has recommended that I try 'going lighter' in the past so this is one attempt.
I've posted a different version of this bridge from the same night photo shoot, back in June at http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-06-15 . I prefer that version, possibly because I'm not used to this, and possibly because it's a better version...
Peter @pdulis and Michael @michaelelliott -- I've liked your recent photos and am trying to see how you are creating your versions. Clearly, I've not figured it out yet! But it's fun to try something that for me, is pretty different. Thanks for the inspiration!
Stunning effect Taffy. The whole image really zings. I'm very impressed by @michaelelliot 's work and must try to get my head around working on a version of it for myself. I'm not familiar with @pdulis work and have only just started following him.
Reminiscent too of @Ian at least to my eye. Beautiful. The prior one is beautiful too. It's fun to push are borders and try new things. Obviously you've struck a cord with a lot of people.
I looked at both and loved both. Two shots with such different moods. The night shot is a gorgeous night capture clear with wonderful colors. This one appeals to my romantic side. The softness gives you a hint of the misty air. The purple sky and the wonderful lighting plus the colors reflecting in the water all make it seem the perfect romantic destination.
@kathiecb Thanks, Kathie...it was fun to play with, and I appreciate your view about the different emotions they evoke, rather than one being better...I should take that attitude more often!
Beautiful job. While I go lighter, I also avoid the washout from the light that can blur our detail by increasing the contrast slightly adjusting curves and sharpening. Thanks for the mention. See my latest skyline for example.
