P3 with an important update and I am SOOOO happy to be posting. We all breathed a HUGE sign of relief tonight as Big P came through super glue rehab with flying colors. The rehab came about in stages...First, Taffy went out to bring Dr. Glue back to our place for what is called a "house call." These are apparently very rare, but Big P was worth it so she made it happen (guilt much?).
We set up a hospital room for him so all was ready when Dr. Glue got here. Second, Dr. Glue had us lay out the three pieces of Big P so he could see which one went where. Third, in a very carefully orchestrated action, he worked closely with Taffy using a series of drop and hold kinds of maneuvers (he dropped, Taffy held). First the head...then after a bit, the beak. I was worried when I heard Taffy say "Oh, #*%^&" but it turns out that Big P is fine -- his beak is just a little crooked because the glue worked so fast. You can see from the photos along the right that he looks almost totally normal. He's calling the scars 'battle wounds' and we all know who he is referring to battling with, right? We are all treading carefully when asked to pose or participate in photo ops. We know she means well, but we've had some bad luck with Taffy lately so we're being extra careful!
Thanks for all your kind words. It meant a lot to the Danbos and me. For those of you who were rolling on the floor laughing (you know who you are!!!), well, all we can say is we hope you never get dropped on your head, and then have your head and beak fall off and require a visit from Dr. Super Glue!
We hope you all have a very safe and healthy New Year. I'll be back on Thursday, New Year's Day, with a post on the Toys album -- see you then! Signing off...P3 for Big P and the Danbos (mmm...sounds like a good name for a band).
This is just brilliant P3. I am very glad that Dr Glue was able to visit and perform the successful surgery. And well done to Taffy for being such a good helper. A big fave for this one.
So pleased the rehab was successful! I would like to wish you all a happy New Year but most of all a HEALTHY One! You just never know what's round the corner!
Great shot. I hope P3 get fine soon. My danbo broke his neck on his first week of adventures. I fix him with a cousin of Dr. Glue. This is the reason why my Danbo never looks up or down, only to the left and right and with his chin slightly up ;)
such wonderful news to end the year and bodes well for a good start to the new year!!!!!! Thank heavens for Dr Glue - he has saved me on numerous occasions
So glad to hear that the major surgery went well. I bet Big P is breathing a sigh of relief now. Well done Dr Glue and Taffy.
I have got neck problems, maybe Dr Glue and Taffy will make a house call here too.
@onewing Heeheehee....sure, trust Dr. Glue and Taffy...we're sure you'll be fine! Breathing a sign of relief was so much easier with a head and a nose, according to Big P!
Thank goodness for the likes of Dr. Super Glue. We've never had to use it on ourselves, but Miss Ann says she's needed it on a few mugs, bowls and plates through the years! (Piggy and Friends)
You are one funny and creative lady :) What a story and pics to back it up, absolutely love dr Glue, lol. I´m glad P3 is okey -nice work team dr Glue & Taffy. Happy new you to you and all the little toys too. Hopefully you will all stay safe!
If you do form a band p3 could I be the first to be a groupie? I think I may be in love with you. Though I am in the camp of giggling on the floor. I am sorry and glad surgery worked.
I have got neck problems, maybe Dr Glue and Taffy will make a house call here too.
