Big Penguin's Accident by taffy

Big Penguin's Accident

P3 here, reporting on an appalling turn of events. One of my new friends is Big Penguin (Big P for short), who came home with me from Santiago, Chile. We've had a blast for a while, but then tonight, I was showing him Chicago's skyline with the crystal ball (Taffy taking photos, of course). Taffy asked us to move a bit, and gave Big P some "help" (yeah, right), and DROPPED HIM ON HIS HEAD!!!!! His head and his beak came apart! You already know about her losing TWO Big Danbos. OMG -- am I next??? She talked about Big P going into rehab with something called Super Glue...doesn't sound good to me. You may have to view on black to see how Big P's head is just resting loosely as is his beak. EGAD!!
Very cool

I HAVE to fav for pictures. The narrative deserves more. Thanks for sharing!

Hysterical!!! Rolling in the floor laughing!!! Great job and particularly loved the super glue rehab!!!
December 29th, 2014
:) Awesome
December 29th, 2014
You're narrative made me laugh, but I guess Big P probably doesn't think it's funny, and P3 sounds traumatized. You have such a creative imagination. Very cool collage.
December 29th, 2014
Very entertaining! Sorry for Big P, though! ;)
December 29th, 2014
Delightful story - and a true one too. Nothing like losing one's head over a photo! The backgrounds are all very intriguing too!
December 29th, 2014
Wonderful story and capture. Love the reflection in the crystal ball!! Beautiful! Glad P3 has a new friend.
December 29th, 2014
Great story :))) and love the crystal ball image with the inverted cityscape :)
December 29th, 2014
Creative story, amazing captures and excellent collage.
December 29th, 2014
You have me laughing... but your sweet sidekicks are probably "not so much." Adorable collage. Also, I am voting for the bottom, in the middle, shot. Superglue rehab may work out wonderfully... fingers crossed!
December 29th, 2014
Hilarious! Grand collage! Love the perched on the world shot!

AC
Too funny! Love the inverted image in the crystal ball!
December 29th, 2014
I hope that the super glue rehab works for Big P. Super collage
December 29th, 2014
What a great collage and a fantastic story. Not so good for Big P though. Hope he survives rehab.
December 29th, 2014
So sweet, I love this!
December 29th, 2014
Poor p3 his life is very adventurous!
December 29th, 2014
haha! so funny.
December 29th, 2014
Love these shots and the story is so funny. Sorry about big p´s head :(
December 29th, 2014
So funny, great collage.
December 29th, 2014
Some delightful images here Taffy... but I'm so sorry about Big P - if it was me, my disappointment would be completely out of proportion to the event. I really hate it when any of the things I treasure get broken or damaged.
December 29th, 2014
Oh poor Big P! So sad that his new life in the US has started with a trip to rehab!
December 29th, 2014
Ho Ho Ho Well done
December 29th, 2014
ROFL- some people just aren't meant to have toys.
December 29th, 2014
Oh and they make rubber toys. Maybe Taffy should think of a Rubber Ducky with a squeaky thing so if it drops it will bounce and will squeak so she can hear it.
December 29th, 2014
I know I shouldn't be laughing but it can't be helped. 3P's telling of this tragic tale borders on hilarious. In all serious tho, my sincerest sympathies to Big P and his injury, as well as the demise of all the Big Danbos who have gone before him. Very cool images you've created with this duo.
December 29th, 2014
Oh, such a funny but sad story. Poor penguin. I hope the rehab helps!
December 29th, 2014
poor big P. At least it was an accident. Mr. Pig lost his nose when I repeatedly dropped him head first into a big pot trying in vain to catch a good motion blur.
December 29th, 2014
funny and cute! Poor Big P!
December 29th, 2014
Funny story! So cute and creative!
December 29th, 2014
Such a funny story but oh so sad for Big P!! I hope the rehab works!! Love the shots - you are lucky to have such a wonderful view - just don't go too near the edge when Taffy is around!!
December 29th, 2014
Oh no poor big P!! Hope he will recover fully! Take care of yourself P3 when Taffy is getting the camera out again, you never now what is going to happen!
December 29th, 2014
OMG. She's trying to kill him. You must be Taffy's favourite, P3.
Nice site seeing tour.
December 29th, 2014
Poor Big P, hope no more "accidents" happen with you guys in the future. Great collage of shots - fav
December 29th, 2014
Ouchiness galore!
December 29th, 2014
You ought to write the adventures of my friends. I know it's not funny for Big P but you had me laughing out loud. I'm a terrible person.
December 29th, 2014
P3 what a terribly scary thing to go through with your new friend Big P, this Super Glue rehab thing, is good, so don't be worried that Taffy has suggested it, years ago, Jack (of nursery rhyme fame) had to mend his head with vinegar and brown paper, times have moved on so much. I am sure taffy is feeling terrible, so give her a huge P3 hug.....it will make her feel better
December 29th, 2014
@pixiemac Thank you Sarah. As a very small penguin living in a foreign country, I'm feeling a bit vulnerable at the moment. But it's good to know that Super Glue is a good thing and not something horrible. It does sound more useful than vinegar and sugar. I know Taffy feels bad, but gee whiz...she seems to be destroying or disappearing us one by one!!
December 29th, 2014
Thanks Taffy that gave me a laugh!
December 29th, 2014
The photos are wonderful too! Must get my crystal ball out.
December 29th, 2014
Quite an amazing collage.
December 29th, 2014
Dear Lord this has been a wretched series of events to finally bring 2014 to a close (quickly please before anything more happens to Taffy and the little Taffyettes!) I can think of no one at present to whom I'd wish more, "A Happy New Year"!! You're in need of a clean page and a fresh start!!!
December 30th, 2014
What a sorry tale of toy abuse this is. Some people ……! Fav for both the pics and the tale.
December 30th, 2014
Oh dear- it sounds to me like Miss Taffy needs less fragile friends! Time to look into plastic critters like Piggy and her friends.
December 30th, 2014
The photos with the crystal ball are very good. Will have to try some out with Melodi. Sorry you broke Big P and glad to hear that he is now properly glued together.
December 30th, 2014
What a witty collage - great shots as well
December 30th, 2014
Fantastic collage.
December 30th, 2014
Oh dear... Horrible... But I'm laughing like anything!
December 31st, 2014
Oh, no!!! Lapis Penguin will be visiting soon, and now fears for his head! But that new giant crystal ball sure captures Chicago fabulously!
December 31st, 2014
@jyokota He'll be safe...Dr. Super Glue has taken up residency here, and brought a colleague along.
December 31st, 2014
@taffy good to know that Dr SG will be available (and experienced) in handling any new problems!
December 31st, 2014
funny !
January 4th, 2015
*chuckle*
January 6th, 2015
LOL. Super Glue to the rescue... Love it.
January 7th, 2015
oh, my goodness, this is hilarious!
January 9th, 2015
P3 here @summerfield and I'd just like to say, broken head, severed beak, and hilarious are not my idea of words that go together. You're like those folks who were 'rolling on the floor laughing' -- weirdos!
January 9th, 2015
@summerfield Taffy here...I have just reprimanded P3 for the way he wrote to you...he says he's sorry and won't make comments like that on such a friendly site. He said he's trying to see the humor in the situation now.
January 9th, 2015
@taffy - hi, prof. Grandy said "tee-hee!"
January 9th, 2015
@summerfield :-) isn't avoidance behavior fun?
January 9th, 2015
OK, I just now saw this, and I do think it is hysterical!! Does that make me a weirdo, too?! Just one word of caution, though, if you keep abusing or losing your children, the rest of them will be taken away from you, and placed in foster homes!! ;-))
