OCOLOY Day 81: Occasional Fence Post 2 by vignouse

OCOLOY Day 81: Occasional Fence Post 2

On the 16th of March I scratched an itch by posting a picture of a fence post that I have photographed dozens of times only to delete all the images later. I like fence posts but I would be the first to admit that they are not everyone's favourite subject, so I was surprised and delighted when that picture made PP. It has encouraged me to occasionally post images of posts that catch my eye, like this one did today.

Pops nicely viewed on black!

This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
Does indeed pop nicely on black. I like your seemingly effortless composition which when viewed carefully is shown to be impeccable.

Lovely detail and, as you say, looks even better on black.

Neat composition, focus, textures

Composition works well -- the lines reminiscent of the branches.

The diagonal lines work well here, leading into the post.

this image could be straight out of australia Richard...nicely done

Sure does. Excellent in all respects.

Where would we be without fence posts, we have a saying here "good fences make good neighbours" it may apply to farming more than other sectors of society. Good shot, show more, may try myself...

They have to be really special Fence Posts to make the PP, this might just be another one!! Excellent, Richard.

Looks like a very old fencepost

Beautiful details and textures, lovely composition and it does pop on black. Excellent shot! Sorry I lost your following, was encouraged by your comments because they stood out. However will still be following you, when able because you're amazing photographer.

All fence posts have numerous stories to tell. This one is no different. Very nice.....

@juleshoogstraanderson I didn't deliberately stop following you Jules but it sometimes happens on here that a follow link gets disconnected and I guess that's what's happened here... I've restored the follow.

As you may have expected, this is a fav for me. Really like the way it's a nexus for the wires

I'm a big fan of fence posts. This is great :)

I took a picture of a fence post today. Not happy with it but maybe I'll take another look at it. Thanks for inspiring me so often.

Something new I've learned from a veteran of 365. So appreciate the follow and also your comments about the birds, I was wondering what I was doing wrong. Swill give them and myself time to adjust to each other.

Oops that supposed to say, so I will...my iPad acts up occasionally. Thanx for the advice and the follow, I appreciate it.

Oh yes. Weathered wood, sharp barbed wire. Nice.
March 22nd, 2016
Beautifully composed with the barbed wire going in three different directions! I like shots of mundane things, or should I say ordinary objects, because what might be ordinary to you will be unusual and not often seen to people living elsewhere (that means me)!
March 23rd, 2016
There is definitely beauty to be found in the mundane. I like the simplicity of the composition

Focus kills! Super fav
