A friend's funeral this morning and the weekly shop this afternoon meant that I didn't get out for a photo-walk, so today's image is of these lovely ripe tomatoes. These, with the addition of chopped shallots and garlic, torn basil leaves, freshly ground pepper and sea salt and lashings of olive oil, became the starter for our evening meal.
This image is SOOC and is part of my ongoing OCOLOY project - you can read more about it in my profile.
It's hard to keeping going with a project on days like that, my condolences on your loss. I love that this is a monochrome image, breaking from the norm of vibrant red tomatoes.
@annied@annied It will go well with the ricotta Annie - here's a pic of a prepared tomato salad I posted in October 2014 - http://365project.org/vignouse/365/2014-10-06 No shallots on this one as I had run out... it's better with. Bon appetit!
A friends funeral in the morning and the weekly shop in the afternoon. A elderly family member tells me this has become the norm as they've got older. Vine tomatoes have such a wonderful smell and I can smell these, even in black and white. I'm reminded of the Ted Lowe saying "and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green". Just great! fav
@gamelee I remember Ted Lowe saying that! It wasn't quite as stupid as it seems in retrospect because the green was on its spot and could be identified.
