Project 52: Week 4 - The One Tree

Taken on a walk around the country lanes close to our house: as I climbed this hill, I was struck, as always, by what appears to be a tree growing in the middle of the road... and a tree, on this occasion, floodlit by the heavens no less. In fact, the road bears right at the top of the hill and the tree is on the left verge but the effect is quite convincing as you climb the hill. (Were you to look to the right as you reached the tree, you would see our house far across the fields.)

This pops even more when viewed on black!
This is fabulous. Love the light

Lines that lead to somewhere. Lovely.
January 24th, 2016
Great composition. The rays from the sun shine on the tree and pull my eyes there.
January 24th, 2016
There are many of illusions like this. Sometimes man tries to do this on purpose but probably that tree just happened to grow where it did. Wonderful shot.

January 25th, 2016

This is just a fantastic shot for many reasons.

Lovely image. I wouldn't have necessarily noticed the post processing blur, myself, but I think it works very well here.

Beautiful shot, I especially like your control of the sun and the sun rays.
January 25th, 2016
@gamelee Thanks Lee - I had wanted to do this SOOC but the dynamic range of the scene was too great for a JPEG and needed some processing intervention.

Wonderful light and symmetry...favin it....
January 27th, 2016
You must know all these lanes so well. A lovely world to inhabit and document, which you do so well.
January 28th, 2016
Gorgeous... how would it look ion you cropped off the source of light so you just got those rays? Fav for the bottom three quarters! :-)
January 29th, 2016
@yrhenwr It would look... ahem, different! And by the way - and strictly entre nous - only the right most ray is real, I added the other four in LR... wicked, aren't I?
January 29th, 2016
@vignouse Shocking! This kind of thing must be stamped out! ;-)
