Hi Jan...one of the things I do like to know about someone when I follow them & that is where they come from....I am from Great Eccleston a small village 7 miles inland from Blackpool in north west England.
From the New Hampshire/Vermont border in the northeastern USA, but currently live near Cincinnati, Ohio, in the Midwestern USA. Too far away from the ocean for my comfort.
Born in Chiswick, London, England and lived there until 6 months old. Raised in New Jersey (where the Super Bowl was just held - NOT New York!) - Maplewood for a year or so, then Orange for another few years, then Pompton Lakes for about 18 years, now Fort Lee (right across the Hudson River from New York City (yes, where the Governor closed the George Washington Bridge).
@happypat Hi Pat. I quite aggree which is why I posted this discussion. I love to see all the shots from around the world and link them with the different countries but I also like to see what other people are shooting here in the UK to give me some inspiration.
Thanks to all who have posted. It is amazing. Can anyone tell me how many are actually registered with 365?
This is so much fun to see! I'm new this year to 365, and when I signed up I did not know about this awesome characteristic of this website- the fact that there are people from so many parts of the world. I wish I could travel to all of your countries, cities, and towns, but since I can't, I am so excited to be able to see all of your pictures! Thanks to the original poster for this thread and to the rest of you for posting where you are from! How fun.
I live in Chicago, IL, USA.
(Originally from Minneapolis, MN, USA)
I'm from a typical mid-western town in the USA: Fairfield, Ohio. We are near Cincinnati, Ohio where many families have German and Irish heritages. Like many others, we are slogging through a colder and snowier winter this year!
@jb2014memorylog I love that about 365 too, especially since I have had kids and cannot really afford exotic holidays :)
By the way I love Chicago , got some family is Effingham, IL and we have had some cool visits to the Windy city when I was little. The best time was when me and my parents decided to find the different places in our fav film The Blues Brothers. We got some really strange looks when we asked the guy in the cook county assessors office if we could sit on his desk for photos - he had never heard of the film :D The sad thing is you probably can't do stuff like that since 9/11
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Currently land-locked in the mid-west (Indianapolis, Indiana) but contemplating a return to Virginia before the year is done.
South African, both in Johannesburg, grew up in Bedford in the Eastern Cape, married and moved to Port Elizabeth. Had two sons and moved to Birmingham in the U.K. 15 years later still living in the same house in Birmingham. :)
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THIS GREAT RESPONSE. I think it will be interesting to many of us around the world. Does anyone actually know how many 365 ers there are?
ALSO I hope that this has enabled people to link up with those more local. I love to see shots from around the world but also hope to link up with those in the UK.
@night_nurse We just moved from Fishers. Loved it there. And my parents lived in Richmond for several years while I was in college. She worked for WTVR the south's first television station and lived off Three Chopt Road and Parham.
Hi All - this is so neat to see ALL the locations! I am from NH - just north of Mount Washington, home to the highest recorded windspeed on earth at 231 miles/hour.
Hi, I am from a small town called Rosewood located about 50km West of Brisbane in QLD, Australia. I love the fact that we can see amazing photos from such amazing talent all around the world. I am going on a trip to the USA this Christmas and will be spending some time in Portland OR, I hope that maybe some of those people on here from that area would love to meet up and take me to some of the amazing places they photo daily.
Essex boy by birth, grew up in suburbs of Manchester, spent most of my working life on Merseyside and am now retired and living in Kerala, southern India, about an hour north of Ernakulam/Cochin.
I have managed to find loads of 365ers who are local that I can now follow as well as following some people from very interesting locations. I hope this has been useful for others in that way too. Thanks for posting.
Really small world @neakwagener! I lived in Tauranga until I finished High School and then headed to Wellington for uni. I went to Otumoetai College :-) How about yourself?
Tulsa, OK, USA. Northeastern part of the state. Many Native American Indian tribes living here but most of us just plain folks. Cold and snowy here now.
My home is Southern California, half way between LA and San Diego, but I travel all over the world, thanks to work obligations. Currently in Ontario, Canada.
I'm from a small town in Ireland called Trim but currently living in Dubai UAE (after 9 years in Paris and 6 in Manchester, UK). About to up sticks and move to Qatar in July and then hopefully back to grow roots in UK in a few years with my little family
Hi, I am originally from Poland, but living last 22 years in Perth, Western Australia. I love to know where poeple are from. It is such as opportunity to " see" the world through someone else eyes. And do you think that even we are from different places, we are all very alike ?
Living in a suburb of Albany NY, also near Troy (more photos from there as I work there). We're currently buried in snow. I grew up in Ohio and Michigan, college in central Pennsylvania. I love seeing pictures from all over the world. Just love it. Especially, right now, the ones in the Southern Hemisphere with summer color!
@melmarie3 Sudbury is not far especially if we were to do a weekend adventure :) Maybe meet up in Parry Sound in the fall and do a fall colours trip?? What do you think @cathrinemitch
But am now living in Ontario Canada
Thanks to all who have posted. It is amazing. Can anyone tell me how many are actually registered with 365?
