Voting continues through the end of Thursday 2/20and a winner will be announced on Friday. The winner will have the honor of hosting the next WWYD challenge.
@lbluejaye8 : That's right, wwyd standing for "what would you do" (i.e. with this picture). The host gives us the picture he or she has taken himself and lets us mess with it however we please. It's quite fun and a good way to go a bit crazy with editing.
@hippiechick13 Okay - didn't think you could do this type of work with Pic Monkey - how do you pull out the image and place it somewhere else? Is it the clone tool?
@lbluejaye8 I would expect most of these "finalist" images were done with Adobe Photoshop. PicMonkey will be able to apply various tones, effects, borders and other interesting things to the photo, but doing composites (making a single image out of multiple images) generally requires a more powerful imaging editor along the lines of the Photoshop suite although there are other options - even some free editors such as GIMP.
@lbluejaye8 My shot is number 5 and I consider myself a beginner. I use photoshop elements and have done tutorials over at kimklassen.com. I really like her photoshop essentials course. When I started my 365 project, I could crop and auto correct. I now love editing as much as I do photography!
@twinsplusone Love the concept of the framed masterpiece!! I am pretty much at that stage - crop, autocorrect, tint, etc. I can't wait to do more. Should I take course?
@lbluejaye8 I am glad I took a class and the ones I took are self paced and very reasonable in price. She even has a free intro to photoshop class on her site. There is lots of videos on youtube too but I was such a beginner that I didn't even know where to begin. That's why the class worked well for me. And Photoshop elements is priced under $100 compared to photoshop cs.
@rellimdj Hi. I use picmonkey and you can definitely do some composite work in it, maybe only if you are a royale member. There are some good tutorials online also. It's the only editing program I have ever used but I'm sure the other programs would have even more awesome features.
