Is it a lake or a pond??

It's called the lake, but it's just a large pond, and it's being refurbished at the moment so much is blocked off, JCBs in pens and lots of felled trees.

My daughter selected this as my photo for today.
Call it a "poke" (pond and lake combined)!

From what I see this is a small lake ;) great layers!

Liking the reeds in the foreground. Could be a “land” - see comment above, that would be confusing 😳😅

Lovely shot of this "too big to be a pond" lake?

Do you need a new challenge for this coming week? If so, do a composition made only out of shadows.

We'd call it a lake here in Arizona. On black the sun glinting off the grasses just is so delicate. FAV!

I can see why your daughter chose it - it's lovely with it's monotones and DOF. What are JCBs?

it's a puddle. 😊 or a wanna-be-lake pond. or maybe a basin. this is a nice shot. i like it. and theme-blackandwhite should be added as a tag.

@robz thank you. JCBs are diggers, bright yellow vehicles
@joysabin it's a large pond!!!!
@vera365 ooh I like this one too, thank you. I'll try both but only tag one get pushed but tag you in both!!
@ludwigsdiana thank you, out on a chilly occasional sun stroll in the mud
@365anne newly planted reed bed
@jacqbb it does have rowing boats in summer
@will_wooderson it is rather pokey!
@summerfield compared to your lake it's a piddle not a puddle

mmmm I've not really thought about where the line is drawn and a pond becomes a lake ...

No idea, but it is definitely water that makes your photo shimmer

A lovely view of the lake/pond. I like the glittering grasses. Pardon my ignorance, but what's a JCB?

Very pretty with the light shining on the weeds making them glitter like that!
