We went for a stroll and I got very annoyed with couples who did not move to walk in single file to give us 2m distance, as we did. Parents who let their children ride bikes and not avoid us, really hacked me off. And people who didn't say thank you when we accommodated them just had me seething.
Fear Of Going Out (FOGO) isn't bothering the majority of people but my anger issues are really affecting me and Him.
For another view of the lake we wandered around today pop over to TheDarkroom I am ver smug it worked!!
you got them, too? and here i thought you brits are proper and polite. ๐ last sunday, as i walked to the bus stop a couple with a big dog laughed at me because i walked away from them onto the grass as they didn't give me room on the pavement. i overheard the guy saying "we should let harry chase these stupid people wearing masks" and they laughed so much. now i am afraid of dogs especially the big ones. but goddamnit, i really got pissed so i walked back and told them to stop. i told them that it's fine if they didn't want to follow what the authorities say we should do because of covid, but they shouldn't laugh at people who obey. the woman had the nerve to tell me "why don't you go back to wuhan where you came from?" they had an accent, east european might have been. so i told them they're ignoramuses, they can't even tell if i'm chinese or not. and i said they're racists, shame on them for coming to canada with such an attitude. and if they didn't like how things are done here, why don't they go back to where they come from.
so understand how you feel. most of us would do our part and our best to help the situation, but there are those others who are just plain stupid and thick-headed. now you got me going! ๐
@anniesue fear of horrid people??? @summerfield Vikki I am so sad you have to experience such awful ignorance. You're very brave to stand up to them like that. @koalagardens but i might be the one to die @salza nope!! @wakelys avoid petersfield lake!! @mittens thank you very much x @jacqbb sorry, seems endemic!!
@anniesue ๐คฃ๐๐ Thank you Annie-Sue, thank you. He kept telling me to calm down!!! I'm sad I'm not alone in my crossness, but sort of relieved too!!
This has been annoying me too, especially when we do so! Thankfully from my experience it's only the odd one or two and most people are polite and do go single file or as far away as possible!
Know how you feel. Our area has a large proportion of retirees and we all manage to steer clear of each other when either out walking our in the shopping centre. I find it is the younger generation that have forgotten about social distancing since restrictions were eased. Maybe they think Covid isn't going to reach them and they are immune to it.
Having gotten a mystery virus in spite of hardly ever going out and wearing mask, glasses and hat when we do and washing, washing, washing. So what has me angry is that our country is not concerned. Less than half the people are wearing masks in the grocery stores....the only place we still have to go. Breathe deeply and try to relax....when you are home.
I feel your pain and agree with you. One can only hope their ignorance will not affect others. We have it here too and unfortuantely there is nothing to be done but care for ourselves and let someone else worry about the ignorant.
@summerfield I am appalled! And so proud of you for standing up to them!
You got me so worked up I forgot to say how much I like this photo! Nice light and shade
I like this "corner" view of the bench and green space. I'm doing my best to be non-judgemental and to try and control my temper. I can't control their behavior. I can control mine.
@jackies365 Jackie, the ones at the lake we're in use because now we can!! It was lovely to see
@randystreat Kathy, you're right,!! It was a minority, they were involved in enjoying their space, and I have to be alert to MY safety, thank you for your calm and sensibleness
Totally identify with those feelings. I have limited my public outings to very early in the morning after a short but very frustrating conversation with a young mother who felt it was appropriate to sit (yes, sit!) in the middle of a very narrow pavement while her small child ran round like a lunatic......And there is a small but very nice common less than 30 seconds walk up the street. Grrrrr!
