Georgian Butler

My challenge was to do a vintage Christmas shot, I could choose the era and edit as I chose. All I have done is a crop, to keep that valuable pineapple and costly candles, in the frame. However the challenge for me was to do 'A Hazel' and ask the gentleman to pose for me. I only took the one shot of him, and in retrospect was quite quick in making a getaway!!

This gentleman, I've rudely forgotten his name, told us all about the Georgian Christmas traditions. Between sumptious courses the entire table settings would be changed, with clean linens; as napkins and tablecloth would be have been used to clean greasy fingers and mouths.
@mcsiegle Hi Mary hope this is sort of what you wanted. It didn't work in sepia or with scratches etc to make it look vintage.

Wonderful capture of his vintage butler. I love it that he helps to educate people about history.

I think it's always nerve wracking asking a stranger for a photo - well done!

For this week's Get Pushed how about a collage of say 12 assorted doors (I so want to do this but never get around to it) but with the last one sporting a Christmas wreath? You can always use any door shots you may already have; or a Christmas themed triptych but say 1 in colour and 2 in b&w or vice versa. Do either if these apoeal? Felicity

Apologies for typo, my fingers are too big for my phone!

@fbailey Love the doors idea, but I just don't have time to go around taking shots of that number of doors on my day off this week or have that many in my albums. BUT the tryptich I should be able to manage. Thanks Felicity

Jackie, I don't know why I'm only now noticing this. Apologies for the very tardy commenting. This is fantastic! While it isn't what I originally imagined (a vintage look to the photo) it's certainly vintage Christmas. Aces. Mission well accomplished.
