If this is a record of a day in my life, I had to do this one more time! Yesterday, so many of you shared stories of your experiences with these beguiling little creatures, I had to post an update...and it really was a highlight of my day!
We headed to the park, this time armed with a package of peanuts and went in search of our little friend to make amends. There's an area called The Grove, and we had no trouble spotting one or more little guys willing to sample our wares. They ran up to us, they willingly took peanuts from our hands and posed for (dare I say...) about 150 photos! Not only was it a "day in my life", but a pretty good record of a day in the life of a squirrel!
Twice we encountered others feeding them, and a family watched us, too, for awhile. We left happy...squirrels seemed happy... It doesn't get better than that!
hi, louise. it's been such a busy weekend...i am so jealous that you can find critters like these to take photos of. the only critters i have are the children in my daycare and no amount of peanuts can make them pose for 150 photos =) this is such a great capture. his willingness to be your subject is apparent. hahah. i love his little hands/paws =)
Yes, had to fave, as well. Wonderful, wonderful shot! I love to feed these little guys, although, they have often already raided the garbage cans in the alley and are in possession of a large candy bar, ear of corn or Tostito bag by the time I run into one. Ha!
Oh so much fun! You really are getting up close to these squirrels! Love the crisp focus and great texture and how the background is blurred. Gorgeous!! You should be called the "Squirrel Whisperer!" hehehehe Love it!
Yes, this is by far one of my favorite photos of yours :)) You have to have PURE TALENT to have taken a photo such as this. I also wanted to say that I saw your comment on my "berries" photo and truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts and the many wonderful comments you take the time to write on my photos almost everyday. It is SUCH a fantastic shot, and I love the idea of it "A day in the life of a squirrel," that I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I would love to see MORE pictures of the squirrels in your park, and then imagine some of the other things the little guys might be doing with their days.

Oh my goodness, he is so cute! I think I will grab some peanuts and give that a try! Doubt it will work as far as pictures go but maybe I will get to watch them eat some. This picture is amazing!
Perfect! I can't get over the relaxed expression on this guy's face. He was ready for his close up! Many people never see a squirrel this close up! It is wonderful to be able to savor a photo like this and discover every little detail--I love their feet and their twitchy noses! Great picture!
