My home is in Southern California and my kids are living in Chicago, staying on and settling down there after graduate school. I haven't seen them since Christmas, so it was wonderful to arrive in time to celebrate Mother's Day with all my family. That's Ashley & John on the left, the one's who are expecting a baby in October. Heather and Tina are partners and all four live nearby one another.
They took me out for a wonderful brunch in the morning, and then we drove to Buckingham Fountain for family photos. We had a beautiful , sun-splashed day! From there, we drove out to the Adler Planatarium grounds, went for a long walk and got some pictures with the city skyline in the background. We ended up back at Heather & Tina's home where we visited, & Heather worked on some art projects while I looked through 365 and shared pictures with her. We ordered in a late dinner and sat around the table visiting until 11:00. I just wanted you to know I really did take time to enjoy my family, and we're having a wonderful time.
Tomorrow Heather & I are going downtown to the Art Institute & later, meeting the Chicago gals from 365. I wonder what picture I'll have to share on Tuesday :-)
great shot of the fam & I'm so happy to hear you had a happy Mother's day!! :) have a great time in Chicago! ...can't wait to get out there again & visit my brother!
Happy Mother's Day Louise! Glad to hear you had a great day, Have fun while you are in Chicago, I loved going to the Art Institute when we visited there a few years ago.

I'm glad that you had such a lovely day, and I am so happy to see such a great picture of you with ALL of your kids! ;-)
You didn't by chance take any time to watch the hockey game tonight, did you? The one that WE won? Hee
( It was on in the restaurant we were went to tonight...which is OK, it was a steakhouse. So, I got my prime rib, and Brad got to see the replays, whenever we scored a goal! lol )
Happy (slightly late because it's me) Mother's Day! Beautiful photo, beautiful family! I will superimpose Ken in there next to you with my little pea brain. : ]
This is a fantastic photo...I so wish we could be at the dinner tonight...actually talked about the possibility of taking the 6 hour drive...but couldn't swing it on a workday...
I'm so happy to know that you planned your trip so you could spend some time with your children and celebrate Mother's Day together before you fly to NS. also like to thank you for sharing with us a picture of your lovely family. now we can look forward to pictures of your upcoming Chicago meeting with our 365er's. i'll hope there will be a larger crowd this time.
Louise you asked me what my plans were for Mother's Day. The family including my son's mother-in-law (her husband passed away recently and since she doesn't not drive i made a point of picking her up and taking her out for lunch once in a while.) will be gathering at our home this time - usually all our holiday's and birthdays gettogether except for New Years are spent up north at my Bruce's home. so for me it was a special day for having them here. we were 8 all together since my granddaughter is trying to make some extra money waitressing (good tips) and Grant the older boy had to study for an exam and stayed home, but we'll see them before we leave for Germany on our 6 weeks vacation.
The idea of being an elder----wise woman----is a very exciting one. I imagine that you were enjoying that very much! Hannah and I have a special, unique bond. I cherish it :o)
How cool to have mothers day all together. I know its hard when theres physical distance. I am not looking forward to 2013 when both my boys will be living in a different country from me- it's hard enough with one gone!
This is so wonderful that you had time to spend with them! You have a beautiful family!!!!! Don't waste a minute of your time with them. Have fun...and can't wait to see your pictures! :)
All this Mother's Day lark really got me worried for a moment and I thought i'd missed .... Only to check and in the UK, Mothering Sunday is in March.... phew :-)
This is so great! I'm so happy you had such a joyous celebration. Happy Belated Mother's Day! ...oh, and P.S. - yeah, I've already started "shopping"...I won't likely get a giant like this borrowed one, but I'm stoked to get a little better zoom...
