I've just had another sensational day seeing the sights around Chicago in the company today of Ken & Heather (Ashley had to work). We took the El downtown first to Millenium Park where I got some wonderful pictures of The Bean, one of Chicago's many *fabulous* sculptures. From there it was a short walk to the Art Institute, an amazingly wonderful museum. We spent most of the day in the modern wing, taking a docent-led tour, and then seeing the visiting Matisse show.
But as excellent as all that was, the best lay ahead. We met Ashley & the four of us walked across town to meet the local photographers of 365. Thanks to those selfies we did, I had no trouble recognizing first Sue Stephenson, followed shortly by the arrival of Rebecca Mis. Kerri & Chimom were right on time, and Ken took a really terrific picture of all of us, but Kerri wasn't there yet. She joined us at the Mexican restaurant where, for the rest of the evening, we laughed & visited like teenagers at a slumber party! We had one heluva time...what a great group of gals!
I'm coming back through in September, and I think we plan on doing this again. Should we reseve a bigger table next time?
I'm swiping the following right off of Kerri's picture...I couldn't have done it better!
Reserve a bigger table!! Chicago isn't toooooo far from Texas..... :) I LOOOOVE this and so glad y'all had a wonderful time. Thanks so much for sharing!! AND I'm coming next time!! :)
Hey wait a minute...I've seen this before..hmmm :-)
Thanks for sharing with all of us Louise.....Looks like you all had a wonderful, memorable evening. Lots of smiles!
Heee heeee looks like you had a wonderful time in Chicago & with the Chicago 365ers. Wish I could have joined you all! Fantastc portrait you all look like you had a lot of fun! So glad you're having a happy holiday! a fav :-)
Great, great great!
I was just on Sues's page and menitoned that I;d found this on the popular page with a bunch of other photos of you...yours from Mother's Day, and a sepia toned shot of this scene that I haven't looked at yet.
Louise...I am so glad that you had such a fantastic time and met so many people, and that you could share the experience with your family!
I know you are right in your element at the moment and are probably happier than a pig in s**t, as we canucks are fond of saying.
( ooh! Seriously, subconsciously, slipped that team name in there! Too funny. In case anyone doesn't know...Canuck is slang for Canadian...but the Vancouver Canucks are also playing Chicago in the playoffs right now! )
Wonderful photo! Cheryl and were so sorry not to be able to join you! If there could possibly be a Saturday night dinner in September, save some spots for us at the table!
Too bad Nique is going to school in the Northwest and I always travel even further west in the summer ... this looks like SO much fun! How much longer are you in Chicago?
Louise, I had such a great time last night! It was wonderful to meet you face to face. You are even more delightful in real life than you are on 365. I am already looking forward to seeing you again in September!
Awesome shot looks like you guys had a great time too bad it was a weekday I don't live too far from Chicago. Milwaukee is only about an 1 1/2 hr drive from there. Maybe the September get together can be on a weekend.
oh Louise!!! it was soooooo goooood to seeeeeee you! i felt like meeting a celebrity :) well you are a celebrity at 365 for sure :) i had a great time, i only wish that i didn't have to leave in a rush to catch my train, (another reason why i miss living in the city :)) but you and Heather are both so much fun to be around with, i feel like knowing you for a long time already! can't wait for our next meeting! And...thanks so much for buying the drinks! it's so nice of you to do that! next time it will be ours turn! :)
Louise! this is such a fantastic picture. You are so dear for your comment on my Carnivale picture. It was such a pleasure meeting you and Heather, by far one of the best times I've had in a while. I wish we could do it more often but at least now when you are in chicago you know who to call. Have a great trip and i look forward to seeing your pictures to come.
PS this might be a bit of an over share but I woke up in the middle of the night to head to the restroom and i thought of the story about you waking up to peek at your pictures haha great anecdote :)
Louise - I cannot stop smiling at this photo! What a delight it was to meet you, Heather and Rebecca last night and have you all join the four of us "Loop" girls for a night out on the town. I can't remember the last time that I laughed so much (or was told by the management to get out! Ha!). Next time we have to pick a restaurant with longer hours! And LOL @Catherine's comment. I, too, thought of your anecdote early this morning and had myself quite a chuckle!
You are such a kind, generous soul, Louise and it was such a pleasure to spend time with you. Thanks so much for treating us all to drinks, and as Kerri commented...next time, drinks are on us! :-)
oh my gosh!!! I wish I lived near you guys :D
this is sucha precious moment. I love this!
YOu always have such a good time Louise!
I hope I have half the fun you do when I'm older.
Louise, Barb says she leaves her camera home when she goes for a walk...and that would insure that you walked more and at a better pace but I told her I am too OCD to leave home without my camera these days...need it with me "just in case!"
Hi Louise. Thanks for your nice comments on my recent photo. And I sure wish I could've come to Chicago, but maybe next time.
I'll leave a note on Morteza's last photo and hopefully he'll respond. He commented on one of mine a few days ago, so I'm sure he's okay. He's just kind of sporadic in his commenting. But I share the same concerns you do :-)
Louise, it was so great to finally get to meet you last night. I would not have missed it for the world. I think that's one of the most incredible things about 365 - we al get to connect with such amazing people. I can't wait to see you again in September!
Louise, I am loving this!!! It looks like you girls had so much fun!!! Wonderful photo, wonderful people!!! It must be great to meet face-to-face all 365-ers, since we already know so much about each other through our pictures!!! Chicago is not too far from Saint Louis (we always fly through there), so may be a bigger table next time would be GREAT, indeed!!!! Thnak you so much for finding time to say "Hi' today, and thank you for your wonderful comment. I am very happy you got to see all the Chicago sights, and Heather seems to be the perfect guide - she is all sunshine and smiles, just like you!!!! Did i mention that I LOVE this photo? ;-) Thank you for sharing it with all of us and making us smile!! :-)

Duh.
...and I do know how to spell "mentioned" too.
I just don't know how to type.
I should quit while I'm ahead.
Though, "ahead" might be pushing it!

I am sure you would have come across it eventually but just in case...
