I believe I've written in the past that Lunenburg is a popular place for making movies. We frequently get notices in the mailbox that a crew will be in town & where they'll be filming. Last summer I watched a big production from my front window in the park across the street; it's a familiar sight locally.
So today, when I was looking for a landmark in town to photograph, Ken mentioned that he'd seen a movie crew in the park again yesterday. I expressed regret at a missed opportunity, but he said he knew where they were filming today. We went over at noon, and to my delight, there was a hot set. Emboldened by 365 and the need for a daily photo, I went up to a stage hand (is that the correct word?) and asked if I'd be allowed to take a picture. Three men in unison told me to go right ahead! Yippee! I took three pictures & then thought to ask what movie was being filmed. The nice man gave me a web site, and this is the sum total of what I found about "Cloudburst", the movie being filmed...it's obviously a comedy...
"A lesbian couple escape from their nursing home and head up to Canada to get married. Along the way, they pick up a young, male hitchhiker.
Actors: Kristin Booth Olympia Dukakis Brenda Fricker
Director(s):Thom Fitzgerald"
Well, quite happy with what I'd captured, imagine my delight when, this evening, as we drove to the golf course for supper, we came upon another set along the water's edge. A man came to our window & said they were filming, but to drive slowly past. Again, I asked if I could take some pictures and he gave me the go ahead (quite cheerily), so I got out of the car and walked the distance, shooting several pictures!
In this one, you can clearly see Brenda Fricker in the front seat of the truck. In the background, that's Lunenburg's beautiful waterfront. My other pictures from today are here

I think I may take you to the movies again tomorrow...I'm already planning ahead. This sort of thing never happens to me in California!
My old office was actually the set for two TV shows... the Lipstick Jungle pilot was shot partially in my office, and there was a scene in some other show (I forget which one) where they used our office as well. But I didn't even think to bring a camera with me! Maybe next time I see a scene being filmed, I'll summon up some of your courage and try for a few shots.
Have a great weekend and I am looking forward to your photo tomorrow! ;-))
Great photos!
(A bit of hairspray the movie was shot here and my dance teacher was in the movie and actually had like a second on film. I make it a point to tell everyone when I watch the movie. Theres also a movie being shot on the waterfront here, and my mom said they were keeping the elephant at her work. Sadly they moved the elephant location and I havent seen him)
On the way home from downtown the other day, they were shooting a movie on the side streets, and there was a parking lot specifically for the crew. Next time I'll keep my eye out and take some pics while i pass it.
I love the title of your club, spot on, and would loved to have been a member!! Glad you had a nice memory and no-way are you as old as that!
One of my friends got into a movie once (we're all theater kids, hehe). He was an 'extra', but we all went to the movies anyway!
As it turned out, despite all the hours and scenes they filmed with him in it, he was only onscreen for about .005 seconds- and it was only his butt.
We all had a laugh out of it, but he's actually auditioning for Breaking Dawn this summer, so, we'll see how it goes!
:D
