Back in May I shared that a group of us from the area get together at The Happy Cooker each week http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-05-17 As our friends are returning for the summer and house guests arrive, our numbers have been growing. (Our visiting friend, Nelda, has cornered the men in the front row, and her husband, Jim, is in the back, second from the left)
I find it an amazing thing that our circle represents our far-flung diversity. We're from Lunenburg, Blockhouse and Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, CANADA, Fountain Valley, California and Paris, Texas, USA and Moruya, Brisbane & North Arm Cove, New South Wales AUSTRALIA. The Australians in the group are leaving tomorrow to go to Dover, New Hampshire to visit Enid's son. One of those couples is traveling on to Pennsylvania before visiting Finland & Russia on their way home. Another couple is seeing the southern US for the rest of their visit. (More friends of ours arrive next week from Portland, Oregon).
Maybe The Happy Cooker should consider becoming a franchise of *International* House of Pancakes!
what a GREAT photo of you all! YOu have such amazing friends surrounding you. The Aussies are coming awfully close to me as I live in Concord NH just about an hour away from Dover. Too bad would be fun to meet you through them! 6 degrees of seperation and all that.
What a wonderful and diverse group you have there! You're always having so much fun, and I think it's wonderful that you're surrounded by good friends wherever you go.
great gathering...15 is a lucky number for you.. you guys must have a lot of fun and are most likely looking forward to get together again next summer.
What a great pic...looks like you all are so happy to have the chance to get together again! Oh, I wish I could be there with you all...maybe next year? Or...maybe you could all decide to meet up in Richmond, Virginia...?
What a great looking bunch of people! You sure do hang with a nice crowd. How long do you stay there in Nova Scotia? My hubby went there with his family when he was a kid and he talks about it all the time.
What a happy, beautiful, international shot!!! ;-)) I love meeting people from different places and cutures, and learning more abou their part of the world! ;-)) And I can see that all of you enjoy that, too!! ;-)) The Sunday Morning Breakfast Club soon won't fit in one photo - you'll have to make a collage ;-))
What a terrific photo of everyone. What a small world it really is,we go to North Arm Cove as our boss owns a holiday home there, beautiful spot.Maybe they know each other???
What a lovely picture!
Thanks for your lovely comment, Louise! It is quite fun to cross paths with you again and again! I wouldn't miss it!
So about my picture: my husband actually made the entire dinner. All I had to do was come home, sit on the couch and watch TV as he made it and then eat, isn't that fab? Of course this is not how we do things all the time, but it was a nice change.
I hope all is well with you! :) HUGS!
Really nice photo--and everyone's smiling and looks great (which is hard to get!) You're so lucky to be able to get together with a large group of friends! Ours are so far-flung, we hardly ever get to see everyone
Wow! What a great shot!!! Thanks for your nice comment yesterday. I went to Tahoe alone (my regular company was unavailable) but enjoyed a relaxing trip with my camera and an audiobook. Stopping at Bridal Veil I saw wild columbine, sweet pea, butterflies, a dragonfly and spiders so I knew I was in for a good trip. I posted another shot of the Lupine with a little note for you, too. =)
ahhhh, see, i come back after a billion years and you already have me wanting to aaaaahhhhh all over the place. everyone looks so nice. and you are just as cute as ever.
Big group of happy people. I hope Finland show its best to your friends:) Most propably they visit Helsinki. I could suggest to visit the market square by the bay and the Senate square and the Esplanade parks. These are my favourite places. Full of life and nice athmosphere.
Please say hello to everyone in the club.
i love looking at these happy faces! what a wonderful group of friends you have, Louise! i see Ken peeking behind....hehehe! oh, i cannot wait for retirement and have fun like you do, travelling around...
About Picasa - it does not actually "copy" all the pics on your computer, it just goes through an initial process to recognise them all. That takes a while if you have lots, so set it in motion, and go out for the day :)
Louise, it's easy to be good for one week...let's see how I do as the summer gets busier! I actually used to try to go to the gym 3 times a week but then I got off schedule for a few weeks and then never went back til now...
re: picasa ... it did copy all of my pics into it's software. I've "heard" that one of the complaints about picasa is that it wants to take over. I use ADC for my default picture viewer, picasa for collages and a couple of special effects (sepia, focal B&W), PhotoScape for frames, and PhotoShop for adjusting color, selective coloring, and those DK white backgrounds. So, my answe would be that, yes, I like picasa for what I use it for. I'd be happy to help walk you through it sometime when we're online at the same time ...
Louise, don't you find it wonderful, that if left up to all 'common people' of the world, we could all be at peace in this world? You take a group as diverse as this and everyone gets along.........why can't our world be at peace with each other ???? Just leave it to the common man and keep government out of it, I guess!?
How fabulous that you've gathered such a fine group. You certainly have a knack for that, Louise. With everyone being from all over, I'll bet you've had some great conversation. Fabulous memory shot.
:)

PS. Why is Ken hidden away in the back? I felt like I was doing a "Where's Waldo" hunting around for him in the picture... :)
