On a drizzly day, after our Sunday morning breakfast group met, I set out looking for artists again, but either I was too early, or most had set up to work indoors. I went by the Community Center where the paintings are posted, and found the one I photographed yesterday had sold for over $300.
Because of the poor weather conditions, I decided to pick one subject and try to do it justice. This house sits in the neighborhood called "New Town", but those houses are no longer "modern"! When I first moved to Lunenburg, I'd see a white-haired older woman tending the garden in front of this house. I don't know if she's still tending that garden, but it's always been a pretty one. I've never seen an artist painting this house, but I thought someone should pay it some attention.
That is such a beautiful house & garden, it looks like a dolls house, great capture! Sorry for thinking it was your house yesterday, I knew your house was purple! Thank you for the comments on my page. It has been quite hot for London, kids just love water! I realise my boys are very boy, it must seem a bit like another world when you just had daughters. I hope Ashley is well, I'm looking forward to seeing little peanut!
Oh Louise, this house is beautiful. I particularly love the trim over the entryway. How wonderful that you showcased it and gave it honor. The garden is amazing. My camera would definitely linger here, too.
I love the old style homes and this is exceptional with the lovely flower garden facing it. it well deserves for someone to take a photo of and if they only knew this picture of yours goes around the world..guess it never got that much attention before.
What a lovely home. It has a very welcoming appearance. I love the details above the front door and on the 2nd floor windows- they add a little something special to the house's facade. I am glad that you decided to immortalize this home even if the painters have neglected it.
It's such a charming house with so much character. I love those pointed windows up on the second floor! And the garden is just gorgeous! I think you did a wonderful job of paying tribute to this lovely home.
I drool over every house you post for us! This one is no exception and I'm so surprised no one ever thought to pay respect to this little gem. So glad you gave her a moment of glory. She really is marvelous!! I also love that you have local art hanging in your home. each time I go on vacation buy something from the local artists there.
beautiful shot Louise! You definitely made this little lovely shine!
And, what better person "to pay it some attention" than you?!!? Well shot, Louise!
And, thank you for the link to the information about labyrinths. (I added it to the commentary below my picture.) Here is a link for the actual labyrinth that I walked, in case you are interested! http://www.heartpath.com/SG/Content/maui-labyrinth.htm
I love your house pictures, Louise!!! The garden in front of this one is beautiful!! Wishing you some interesting skies in Lunenburg to play with and tint! ;-) It's thundering here again - what a stormy summer we are having! A funny fact - the weather in Bulgaria is so much like the one in Saint Louis!
The houses in that area are so beautiful! Such awesome architecture there! How much longer do you get to stay there? I bet you have mixed feelings when it's time to go back home.
Thank you also for your comment on the poker hand. Every once in a while I do take a chance and step out of my comfort zone!
You framed this house perfectly!!! I love seeing your house photos, they are so gorgeous!
Re yesterday's photo: sorry about the confusion, it was a fish eye shot of pavement during a rain shower. The rain was creating little bubbles.
You're very kind to give this poor house a little attention. I thought you might enjoy reading my expanded comments on today's guitar photo. I rambled on for TWO WHOLE PARAGRAPHS! I think it's out of my system now and I'll settle back into one and two-word titles, but you never know...could be the start of a thrilling new trend. :)
=)

You are very right, this is a lovely home. I love the decoration around the entrance especially.

And yes, someone should do a painting of it.
