With today's picture, I considered how my site (like many of yours) is already more than 75% in my rear-view mirror... New Year's Eve is just a bit further on, and I feel confident I can actually round year-one of this 365 project! (Team work! Thanks for the constant encouragement!) I've successfully managed to add a photo daily up until now, but in a month, I'll be living without an assured computer connection. I've observed the calendars of others who've taken holiday trips and I find inspiration and encouragement, seeing they've caught up. With much yet to be finalized, our focus has shifted to final preparations and we're counting down the days until we leave. We spent part of the day collaborating with our traveling companions about accommodations, what to bring and what to leave behind. We're packing lightly, but we'll be living out of our suitcases for the next three months. Must-have items will include a computer, camera, journal, e-book and a Scrabble board...
I hope to be organized enough by the weekend to have an afternoon just for 365...I'm factoring it in!
This is a great picture! That sounds like a lot to prepare for but also the start of another great adventure. I am probably a little under 75% completed on 365 but as I think of the year ending and how enjoyable it's been to interact with my 365 friends it's a little sad to think of it possibly coming to an end. I hope there is a chance for some to keep in touch after.
Hope you have a spectacular holiday trip! Blessings to you and Ken.
Love the sundial in the rain! Great picture to mark the passing of the days of 365. It has been a good challenge and I added the additional one of writing the blog every day for the same year. There's a sense of achievement but I don't think I'll tie myself so rigidly in 2011 although will aim to post frequently.
There's been a good community here and I love looking at the various postings and reading the comments.
Planning this trip must be great fun for you all and I'm sure it will be filled with amazing adventures and interesting people that you'll meet en route.
Great sun dial and such true words. Time really does fly. I know how hard it is to pack for a three month vacation when you live out of a suitcase. It sounds like you have the important items already accounted for! Nice photo today.
And also... I've often packed for 3 month trips (hey even 1 1/2 year trips!) the golden rule for me has always been don't bring too much, you will hate carrying it all around and if you really need something you haven't brought you can always get it - and then it will be like a functioning item and a souvenir all in one!!! It is also cool to see that it is possible to manage with a lot less stuff :)
Nice picture Louise. Have fun as you prepare for your trip, it should be exciting. As this year ends I am planning for next year. At this time I plan on a second year of this project since I have meet so many great people here and do not want to loose contact with them.
Tempus does fugit!! I hope you'll have a great time on your trip, but I'm sure you'll manage to find yourself in great company doing great things!!
Love this picture!
Lovely garden art,and you know how I love garden art. Wow 3 months, didn't realize you would be away for that long. Your 365 experience is going to change, but surely doesn't have to be forgotten just because you may be sans computer. :) So what if you just have to up load 2 weeks at a time, everyone will be thrilled to see what you post. I will miss you though on a day to day basis, but keep thinking it will feel like Christmas whenever I see you back on her!! I am just so excited for you and your adventure.
It will definitely will be a busy time ahead of you, but I think you have grown accustomed to planning the way it sounds. I believe you might have it pretty well mastered. I like this photo as it has such a fresh crispness to it.
Nice shot! Time does fly, doesn't it! I feel like I am always one step behind... :)
I am so excited about your trip to Europe. I know you won't be able to get on 365 while you are there, but I can't wait to see your abundance of beautiful pictures when you come back.
Very nice photo...Where will you be for the next three months? They sell internet access that you can attach to your laptop to use virtually anywhere int he world. Check out your local computer store....I think Verizon sells them too. There is no reason to be without 365...I couldn't imagine not being able to log on. I can actually upload pictures to 365 from my phone. I love technology!
Just love today' s photo Louise - it has a peaceful feel about it.
Bernie & I did a 3 month world trip in 2006. We packed light & bought T Shirts etc from the places we were visiting. More so for the men than the women. Also don't take anything that you would not want to lose & you'll have the best time :D
We would love to hear of your travel plans & places you & Ken are going to visit :D
Beautiful sundial..so you are getting ready to pack soon. i always take too much. very bad habit to break. so your trip isn't completely laid out yet?? I know it's not easy to be on our 365 everyday day for uploads..but then you can always when back home show us the sites you visited. as to 78% I have 77% so what comes next? and how will we be able to keep all our work and effort?? it'll be difficult to let go of it since I can't find time to transfer or upload to a blog as well. give me your thoughts on this please when you find a free minute. i wish you and Ken as well as your traveling companions the best of times. come home safe.
What a nice shot. Love the sundial with just the hint of that lush green with the dew on the leaves. We will be looking for you when you manage to be able to connect with us!
beautiful shot! and i'm so excited for your upcoming trip--i can't wait to 'see' all the wonderful things you see thru your photos.
and may i suggest an extra item for your must-have list? a collapsible duffel bag for fun souvenirs?! (:
also, i posted a photo of the kappa house where i lived at OSU--i'm not exactly sure of the date, i had so many to upload and catch up!! (:
@elizabeth@bruni The way you handled your trips to Turkey & Germany give me hope that I can fill in with Wi-Fi when some of our flats don't have Internet connections. @lily@isisweiss We're going first to Chicago for 3 weeks to meet our new grandbaby, soon to be born. We leave from there to travel through Italy, Switzerland and France. Our friends do this every winter, so we've got wonderful multi-lingual tour guides! On our return, it's back to Chicago to see how much that baby's grown! @andifree It's Chicago, bookending the trip, that adds to the time. I feel like a Nomad! I'll be very distracted with "life on the road" but hope to not fall too far behind. Not having fallen behind yet it why I feel advance frustration, but thanks for thinking it will be fun to see the photo packets arrive! @Kerri26@chard@ashleywilson I hope to be here enough to continue posting pictures at least in spurts. It remains to be seen how much computer time I'll have...my comments may turn brief of necessity. And Richard, you know it'll pain me to talk in snippits! @krisnow18@winosandfoodies Yes, I have every intention as I sit here today to drop by as often as I can. @bcurrie The duffle bag is a marvelous idea; thanks for the suggestion! @bradsworld@jillpearce@dailypix I see varying thoughts as we approach photo #365. I may not post daily after that, but I can't see leaving the site and might better enjoy just looking and commenting on other's photos. It's yet to be something I'll think about at a later date. @catfever7@seattle@cirasj@fotofem@cglist@digitalrn@loey5150@ryankeough@chimom@mommablogsalot Thanks for the comments. Soon as I have a spot more time I'll write comments and look at photos on your sites...it's not the same, not seeing your pictures!
Love the sundial....I am looking for the 'right one' for my garden for next year... Your trip to Chicago will be wonderful ...with grandbaby's arrival. And your trip to Italy et al will be fabulous. (I always shipped our souvenirs back...less baggage and less things to keep track of....) As I said earlier to Rudi, I've traveled to several continents and most of the states, but I travel so much easier here on 365...no missed flight, no baggage to carry and much more restful! Can't wait to visit Europe through your eyes! Hope you received my email...
Love this sundial too. It's good to know that your new travel is ahead, and I'm already waiting to see your pictures from there. Have fun for preparations.
Did I read this correctly, " year-one of this 365 project!"? Does that mean you will continue after Jan. 1? I am on the same calendar and have been wondering how I could say good-bye to everyone in 3 months. So...maybe not?
This is a fantastic photo! I just love it! Hopefully you'll be able to connect up from time to time on your 3 months away. Surely I can't finish this project without you. : )
Great shot! Time really does fly, and I can't believe how far along in the year we already are. I'm sure you'll be taking plenty of photos during your travels, so you should have no problem getting caught up when time and resources present themselves.
A wonderful, safe, trip to you and Ken, Louise. I can't imagine not seeing you on here regularly. You will be missed but I know you'll be having so much fun. See you when you have a minute to post or comment.
What a wonderful photo and observation, Louise! time flies, indeed! I can't believe that half a year is already behind me! It feels like just yesterday when i started this project!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments, as always! Congrats fo making it to the top 20 this week, too! I loved the photo with the yellow lemon hearts!
The next three months sound like an exciting adventure! It's wonderful that you are going to see your grandbaby before and after the big trip! We've been spending a lot of time with my sister-in-law and Paxton! (hence my absence from 365 this past week) Babies are so precious and adorable, so soft and cuddly, so tiny and fragile! I bet you all can't wait to get to hold the newest member of the family! And then - off to Europe! Life is good! I am sure the trip will be amazing! We all will be looking forward to your photos! A lot of things happen in a year, and sometimes life sweeps you away and there's no time for the Internet at all. But that's what living is all about, gathering new impressions so you can revisit the memories later. ;-)
