One of the reasons I stopped posting pictures was that my photos have typically been a visual journal of my day and (as you can see) there's a redundant sameness one day to the next at present. We're looking forward to an upcoming change, but for now, a walk in the park is often the highlight of my day. At least I have subjects coming out of the woodwork waiting to have their picture taken...
Awww, so adorable! It is tough to come up with something to shoot every day, and even with all of NYC as my photographic playground, I notice sameness in my shots sometimes. Have you tried a photo scavenger hunt or finding a site (besides this of course) that gives a weekly theme? Even if you don't do the week-to-week themes, it might help spark some ideas.
Sometimes it does get a bit challenging, and for the past few weeks I haven't been able top get out and about as I would have liked. I could have taken a photo of my piles of paper sitting on my desk at work and journaled as the piles slowly became smaller, but this project has helped me to force myself out a bit to see what is going on in the world around me. Little creatures like this add a little spice to life.
I just love this picture of this little guy coming out of the wood work Louise . Btw thank you for your nice comment on the apple blossom, we have a small orchard of different fruit trees the blossom has been spectacular this year.
I couldn't resist pointing the camera at a curious squirrel yesterday as well! Let's face it. Most of us live rather mundane lives. Not every day can be filled with exotic places and ideas. I think the idea behind 365 is to both live within and see beyond that everyday existence. Keep your eyes open and keep shooting!
love the bokeh! Many of my pictures are of the "things I encounter today" variety. I usually have a camera with me. Only rarely are my shots pre-planned or thought out. So I get plagued with the same 'ole same 'ole quite a bit too. The lovely thing about this site is I can do what ever I want really so the "rules" are out the door. Some days I give more of the same and some days I get that great shot. You post whatever and whenever, I promise that we're looking and enjoying all of it!
@chevymom You find so much to photograph within you're sphere, you're never boring! And I should take my inspiration from you in exploring a single subject and keeping it interesting as when we followed your Monarchs!
@lachapaudie Thanks! Oh, I get pictures of Ashton almost everyday, but I haven't seen him since January. We'll be there next week, so be careful what you wish for!
What a great look you're getting from this little guy! Such a cutie. And it's so good to see you back here again Louise. You take such wonderful photos and have such a great eye for detail. We're coming into Winter here, but during Summer we had so much rain I didn't think we'd have much to photograph with Brisbane and most of Queensland underwater... however, we're all going well; and I'm never without my camera as the birds around where I live are pretty daring and confident.
Day to day life has so many interesting things though when you take the time to look. Believe me I have to have faith in that else I would have given up on this project loooooong ago. The bokeh in this is just dreamy Louise
I know what you mean about photographing the same things...and how all the days are just the same. However, I've learned in the last few weeks that there's something wonderful about sameness. I actually wouldn't mind finding it again. And always remember what is boring to you, isn't to us. This picture is cute!
I, too, have been lacking for inspiration, not wanting to "repeat" shots I've already taken (thus my foray into the B&W series of my students). Plus, my world is still very much "white." Hopefully spring will bring inspiration with it (if it EVER arrives in Colorado! LOL!).
You wring great pictures within that framework.
this is a lovely shot .
Jane Austen too said she worked with a small canvas......
My pictures are same, same, and more same. This is what my everyday life is.
