I was looking at Autumn Eden's pic and saw a comment from someone with a familiar face. It has been a long time. Can I say welcome back? And do I detect a theme in your photography? Three out of seven pics are of squirrels? Same squirrel? LOL!
@myrnajacobs@timandelke You can read "View to Exit" info next to the picture...my camera is right in his face! They take the peanuts from our hand and, if I'm lucky, they'll sit in the fork of a tree like this and I don't have to squat down to get a picture. They really entertain us on our walks!
@raysworld Thanks! You know I love being back in this great community but I'm a bit short on subject matter for the moment! As for "same squirrel" in all my pictures, you'd laugh to see how many we encounter. They've all become quite used to people, and given the way they run up to us, we're not the only ones feeding them! ...and it's SO nice to see you, too!
@mrssmith We buy a large bag of unsalted peanuts and one sack is good for about three park visits! When we come upon a pocket of six or seven at a time, we can stay there amongst them for 5-10 minutes feeding them repetedly and, of course, taking a lot of pictures!
@allie912 Trips? Well, yes... This time next week I finally get to see my grandbaby again in Chicago, and from there, we're going on a cruise from Puerto Rico to Spain with some stops on each side of the Atlantic. Of course I can't look you in the face until I send the FA photos, but I have the chance to add some additional pictures!
What a gorgeous shot! We don't have squirrels in our country; and so see them this up close is really wonderful. But we do have possums and they are just difficult to get to stand still long enough - and are night time critters too.
@mozette Yes, I'd say your gorgeous possums are an equal to our squirrels. I think you Australians call them, "Cheeky" as are these guys. But you have a point...they'd be hard to photograph at night!
@slava You say you've got them around your yard...put out peanuts (for them) and set up a lawn chair (for you)! Good luck...I have every expectation you'll get a good one one day soon!
