Can you imagine living in a home without a kitchen? In fact, this house had a large kitchen space with an antique sink and a walk in panty, but not a shelf or a stove or a refrigerator! The available space was full of possibility, so we had a wonderful kitchen built over the winter months soon after we'd made our purchase. One friend, knowing that I love to bake, gave me a fabulous-red mixer, but it had one string attached... He requested I make him cinnamon rolls each summer. It's no small undertaking, but the recipe yields three pans of psudo-Cinnabons and as always, they were well-received!
Yum, yum, yum!!! It's always a pleasure to see you happy face, Louise!I love cinnamon rolls but I decided not to make them unless I have lots of friends to share them with - they are too good, especially right out of the oven!
having made cinnamon rolls from scratch myself I can attest to the "no small feat" but I think it is a fair trade especailly if it is a stand-mixer! Wish I could join you for a cup of coffee and roll, yum
Oh Lousie that looks so great!!!! We don't have an oven in our kitchen here in Jakarta (it is pretty normal in Asia not to have an oven) but we miss one! We wanna make lasagna, baked potatoes, pies and cakes and so much more :) I hope you enjoy your oven - and what a lucky friend you have :)
oooh those look delicious - and a lovely picture of you too. It's great to catch up with you again. I'm a bit of a part-timer on 365 these days, as I'm madly busy trying to meet writing deadlines while keeping up with the boys and life in general. Am having great fun but will be glad when things slow down a bit and I can draw breath again!
I love, love, love cinnamon rolls and I love to make them - a recipe from my mom. I make them every Christmas morning when there are more than just Bob and I around to eat them. I love them too much and can't resist them if they're sitting around in the kitchen. My willpower gets less and less as my waistline grows. :) Love shot of you, Miss L.
@suelbiz47 Thanks, Sue! Like you, I love to bake, but I have to pass some of it along to neighbors & friends! It's a great way to have variety each week, and I haven't been turned down yet!
What a yummy, mouthwatering photograph. Those cinnamon rolls look delicious and I would definitely have to invite lots over before making something that delicious otherwise I'd be afraid I would eat them all.
It looks like you both got a great gift, you the red (my favorite color) mixer and him the delicious looking rolls! I can just smell them in your photos. I am sure they were enjoyed with great gratitude.
...but meet me in about 2 hours and I'll have fresh caraway rye bread coming out of the oven...
I just love these, but have never made them.
They look so delicious & fresh - ready for a coffee :)
