One of the many things I love about Lunenburg is the Sunday-afternoon bandstand music. I heard it from the window, a woman with a lovely voice, so I followed the family over to enjoy the sunny afternoon. John is the Music Director at a private high school, so he enjoys the varied musical selections up here every summer as well. Dylan, on his lap, starts rocking his body every time he hears music, and he's drawn to musical instruments. What fun to expose him to every musical venue and see what comes of it!
@allie912 Thanks, Allison! After some failed attempts to get a photo of them all together, this moment fell to me... They'll be with John's family in PA next, and I'm getting them a copy of this. (Don't recall if I ever mentioned that John & Ashley married on our back deck here in Aug 2007, so they have their ties to this place!)
Louise, this is so perfect for a summer afternoon kind of shot. I can hear the music now....... We are home again, two months earlier than we'd planned. Got as far as Washington, and John became ill. Had to cancel our Alberta trip. Called our son, and he flew up from San Diego to drive our RV and us home. John wasn't able to. Has Dr. appt. with his own doctor here on Wednesday.
@aglennc As soon as I saw your name I was surprised to be hearing from you! Having experienced this in Lunenburg, I have no doubt you can feel yourself present in this photo! That said, I'm so very sorry to hear about John becoming ill. Knowing you travel as much as we do, I certainly understand the constant concern, greater with every passing year... I hope he'll be more comfortable at home and get good care from his doctor...you're both in my thoughts...
What a nice way to spend an afternoon. We have an area nearby too that offers music in the park. A great opportunity to get out and enjoy the sound and art of music
What a beautiful candid picture of your family. Glad you could all enjoy a summer day listening to music in the park. There are a couple places here that have music in the summer but my favorite is at Butchart Gardens.
@digitalrn@teiko@chard@linah@kwiksilver@lynnz@pyrrhula@shepherdmanswife@dailypix@golftragic Thank you all for coming around when I've had so little time to comment! The kids fly out early tomorrow/Tue AM; we left them at the airport hotel this afternoon. Hate to see them leave; we had a wonderful time! In case I wonder what I'll do with my time, I have a (growing) list!
