I love the curvaceous beauty of this welcoming home, quite unlike the straighter lines of the majority in this neighbourhood. This house was for sale (for a long time) a couple of years ago, and I had to wonder why someone didn't grab it immediately! No, I don't know what they were asking for it, and I've never known the owners. I wish I'd been a Lookie Lou when it was on the market! For now I'll reflect on the welcoming entry, the beautiful porch and the little stained glass windows. At this hour, with the setting sun filtering in through the trees, I know the shadow patterns must be gorgeous! ...I'll let you know if I ever get an introduction...
You are right - what a gorgeous home! I would love to sit on that porch and have my morning coffee. I always want to see inside homes - an old habit from my real estate sales days. I bet this is a beauty! Maybe someday you will meet the owners and they will invite you in!
Love your phrase, "curvaceous beauty" to describe this house! It is certainly a welcoming image, the sort of house you would like your grandparents to live in so you could visit them and enjoy all the family traditions.
@snowy Funny you should say that... I have returned in the past to hand out photos, and I've met some lovely people in that fashion... (In a town this size, a couple well-placed inquiries will tell me a bit more about the tenants...)
@allie912 Good morning, Allie! Actually, my grandmother DID live in a big old home with a wrap-around porch in the small rural town of Danforth, south of Chicago... It was those summer memories (and a an IL home we lived in a brief while) that had me longing to own an old house someday. It wasn't happening in SoCa, so when it all came together up here...you know the rest of the story!
Great photo of this beauty. This is a house is wonderful. I can just vision sitting in a wicker chair on the wrap around deck with my glass of ice tea and my camera ready to snap the passerby. Ahh dreams...
Louise I agree the house is so welcoming. Maybe you'll be brave enough to knock on the door one day, if you need some company let me know. Love it. FAV
