Just as it was when I lifted my camera... American Airline's new logo, O'Hare Airport, Chicago's skyline and Sear's Tower. (Yes, I know the name was changed, but it seems no one uses it...least of all, me. ...and don't get me started about Marshal Fields where I'd go into the city for shopping & lunch in The Walnut Room with my grandmother...)
Icons are something special and hold a place in our history and hearts...
Love this shot and the sense of movement with the skyline in the background. I too still call it the Sear's Tower, and in Seattle the new Macy's will always be the Bon Marche and Frango mints were found at Marshal Fields!
@seattle Yes Yes and Yes! Bon Marche (where I shopped w a friend who lived in Seattle & Portland) and Marshal Fields were names that denoted a sense of something special to be found within & sales people who really cared about your patronage..."Old Soul" here... Thanks, Constance...your notes are always appreciated!
@lynnz@darylo Thanks for the favs ladies!
Daryl, as soon as I saw you'd faved this I realized I needed to add O'Hare Field to the iconic names! It certainly has an illustrious history!
