This scene and "site of the event" took place at noon...
Ken and I attended a fabulous movie documentary about a remarkable photographer called, "Meeting Sebastiao Salgado." ** It was preceded by a short called "Train of Thought" that was a series of street photos in the NY Subway. The narration was exquisite! Sadly, I'm unable to find any part of it on the Internet.
We came home for lunch at 1:00, and when I heard a "BOOM!" down in the harbour, I remembered there were to be schooner races today. We hopped in the car to go for pictures, but only had a view of one schooner up on the rocks, circled by boats rushing to the rescue! By happenstance, we were in the company of a friend, a 20-year captain of the Bluenose, who made what seemed the obvious observation that the water was too rough & the race should be called off! I got a few pictures, but I'm getting too many collages. Decided to go with this that I took as I was about to get in the car. It's the first time I've seen the rusty-hulled boat lined up with the name on the Dory Shop, so I felt it was worth recording. Iconic Lunenburg.
