While in the hospital in San Diego, "Joe" brought his therapy dog, a 4-yr-old Golden, "Princess Buttercup" for a visit. Oh course I would have loved her t curl up with me, but she was making rounds...
Is that not just The Best?!
Speaking of "The Best" you all who have dropped in to visit me have been wonderful! It ;s a wee bit difficult to type from bed, but I wanted you to know I think you're all awesome! Thanks and xox!
Oh Louise, I love this! So great that you were visited by this sweet therapy dog. It's bound to make you feel better. She is the best, looks like she has a soft gentle spirit. Continue to rest and recover. Sending prayers your way.
How wonderful that you were visited by a therapy dog. It's something very close to my heart. I was involved in a therapy dog unit for a number of years. Such rewarding times. Unfortunately we were never allowed into hospitals but visited old age homes, children's homes and I worked with some people in a home for quadriplegic. I hope that your recovery is swift and trouble free.
Good to sed you are still smiling Louise! What a lovely visit that must have been! It lifts your spirits when these dogs visit! So they finally noticed you are a fall risk! Hope you feel better soon so that you can get home which is the best place to rest and recouperate!
Thinking of you with the utmost concern. Your story is so frustrating and even more so when your back injury was added . I am impressed beyond measure that you let your self be photographed while in hospital - brave. I won't even tolerate it when I'm all done up in my best. I hope Ken is honing his culinary skills as well as photographic. No need to reply - we know you are all heart - just send thought waves :)
I noticed 'RISK' on your band before I read your narrative and thought they might have pegged you as an 'Escape Risk'...didn't think you'd get too far too fast in a hospital gown, a fractured ankle, a back injury, and crutches.
What a sweet diversion the visit from Princess Buttercup must have been. Wish she could have done a sleepover with you.
Keep smiling, darling Louise...I have a feeling it won't be long until you can relocate your convalescence poolside at your beautiful patio/pool remodel...with Ken delivering your favorite refreshing beverages to your chaise lounge. Hang in there, you've got this!
Bailey was supposed to be a therapy dog. She's an amazing alert dog. She also tunes into ppl's emotions and makes herself available when someone's feeling sad, hurt, blue. However, she's supposed to be the boy's therapy dog but she runs and hides when he gets loud. *sigh* So much for being the boy's therapy dog! She skulks out, once he's quieted a bit, and sits with me offering me what comfort she can. Glad you had some comfort when you needed it, too. *sending healing thoughts your way*
OMG, Louise! Last time I checked, you were petting a camel and now you're in the hospital??? What happened? Hope it wasn't anything serious and you mend quickly. Looks like you're in good company!
Louise, we just returned from several days above Mammoth. What the heck happened to you??? I was jut about to write and ask details about Saturday at Safari Park..... Looks like that's out, huh? Did you take a fall??? Are you home yet???
Oh, so good to have a therapy dog come by for a visit, and you are the absolute best patient for it. Now, if you could just have a kitty cat curl up next to you, that should do the trick! Oh, and I think it is pretty funny that you have a wristband that warns people that you are a "Fall Risk"....you should definitely save that!
