Like Ann @olivetreeann, I love hot-air balloons and had the pleasure of a ride in one with Ken when he surprised me with this trip one morning on a long-ago anniversary. He wouldn't tell me where we were headed as we left the house soon after 3 in the morning! It was a wonderful experience, so it's now a pleasure to place balloons over this lovely beach we enjoy when visiting up the coast, and I can play "Pretend"...
Lovely shot..... but 3:00 a.m.?? Where did you go for the ride?? John would like to do this...... Not me! I don't do heights very well....... or at all!
@aglennc Oh, I *definitely * hate heights (as in hiking a trail or ridge...) but I love airplane views, and, encased in a basket, it was just a delight! I think we were out at Lake Elsinore...hence the early rising! I didn't guess until I actually saw the balloons on the ground before they were heated up!
They do have lots of hot air balloons in the sky over the Lake Elsinore area now and then. We have gotten off the freeway more than once and "followed" the balloons above us. We could hear everything they were saying. Interesting. I don't mind planes, high things that are enclosed, but an open air balloon basket. I don't think so! (I climbed the Eiffel Tower years ago (1960) before my height problem surfaced. I wouldn''t do it now.)
This is soooooo pretty Louise. Ive only just realised (after looking at the image several times and reading the comments) that the balloons have been added? Great job editing although it would be a lovely image without the balloons as well.
You've got yourself a bit of a romantic man there huh? ;) Interesting to read that your afraid of heights but you felt safe in the basket. Ive always wondered whether or not Id enjoy the experience or not because of a fear of heights.
Lovely composition Louise and I will agree with you, and I shared with Ann too how much I loved the hot air balloon ride Josie and I experienced two years ago. It was just breathtaking.
lovely warm but muted tones to this. it's a beautifully breathtaking scenery made more so by the balloon. what i like most is that you made the big balloon go out of frame which lent more interest to the photo to make the eyes keep coming back to it which is supposed to be the subject of the photo without making the sunset less interesting. kudos!
What a beautiful picture! This would have been an amazing experience. I have never been on a hot air balloon ride, I would go if I had the chance though.
@Weezilou Now I feel sorry you`re feeling badly. But you can always have a look/view back. I often do when I have lost the pic.`s of someone and then I tell her/him I did enjoy watching them now.
Love the dreamy feel to this! This is so high up on my bucket list, I'm not sure anything can actually go above it - okay, a few things could ... but not many ;)
