I've been seeing doctors in the light building in the background, and after seeing this sculpture garden from above, it was time to take the walking tour. Not being immodest at all, but the variety of sculptures was so delightfully wonderful, I love every photo I took there and I'm not even half-way through viewing them all! This is as far away as we walked from the car behind us, and the dark building is a skyway to walk across the street below to see more of the garden. When I saw the man watching from above in a casual pose, I knew I needed to include him! The whimsical rabbits of different sizes below sit in a circle. I looked them over for a good closer shot and it struck me that the artist had something to say...the ones to the left had blue eyes and on the right, they were pink... I called Ken to see, and he commented, "Their eyes are changing colors!" I had to go see for myself, and who might have thought these prosaic rabbits would warrant a second look! It turned out that the colors were not changing, but each eye was so subtly altered, there appeared to be a movement of rainbow color transition around the circle.
All the more timely seems to be that there's a presentation, tours, and children's art classes on the 12th, even as my grandsons are visiting! Must try to be there for that!
Hi,, Louise! I'm back! Great trip to Alberta to visit family, gone 2 1/2 months, but nice to be home. I've missed 365 but had meet ups and photo shoots with current and/or former 365ers you'd know. More later. How are you doing and feeling, and how's NS?
Love this image Louise! And the guy up in the tower posing so casually. He acts like it's an everyday occurrence to see giants rabbits sitting around a tree plotting to take over the world!
@joysfocus LOL! I had so many wonderful images of individual sculptures to pick from, but I wanted to share the setting as I think it's so urban and gorgeous! This would be a wonderful place to go next time to take photos if you'd like!
@Weezilou Glad to be home, but great trip. Had a wonderful day with Brian @bkbinthecity and wife Melody in Edmonton. He is a real Edmonton historian and gave us a great tour! Also thoroughly enjoyed our time with former 365ers in Montpelier, ID. Ross Walker, Bruce Grayum, and Karen Matthews. Made some great new friends of all our current/former 365ers.
Wonderful capture!! Love the rabbits....would love to see the different color eyes. Checked out all the other sculptures....they all look so interesting and different....great concept!
