You want to see happy?
Ken made pumpkin scones not once, but twice today...
He made a pear & blueberry crumble that we took to the neighbour's home for dessert tonight.
While he was in the kitchen, I got a lot of backlogged photos for September posted today! Thought I ought to close the day with one actually taken today!
Now that's what I call a great hubby. We had a lovely meal in a vegetarian restaurant yesterday and there was a cookbook of all their recipes but as we are in Vienna it was in German. Jeremy was going to buy it for me but I don't speak german so I said if he bought it he'd have to do the cooking. He didn't buy it!! Those scones look great
@summerfield pear and blueberry crumble with vanilla ice cream last night... My neighbour who had us over for dinner along with B&D dolloped the last small serving into a container for herself and gave us the empty dish to take home! (Brought her scones, too, for breakfast the morning after!) Thanks, Ken...I didn't have to do a thing!
How wonderful Louise. When I met Ken, I could tell he had a kind & caring heart and know to learn he bakes too. You are one lucky woman. But then, I'm sure he is one lucky man too. :)
What a sweetheart of a guy you've got there, and a real treasure, something I know is not news to you. Good action shot – it makes us envy your close proximity to the goodies.
(Silly raccoon, rattling around on your porch at midnight! I saw a mom and three 'pre-teenagers' rambling along the edge of an unpicked cornfield the other evening. I could've watched their antics for hours but the Mama suddenly realized she was being observed, did a humpph and led the way deep into the stalks.)
OK...I'm a bum for sure! Your comments were all so cute, and thanks for the love that so many of you sent! I could see he was a keeper the first time he took me home with him and I met his family. He pitched right in to help his mom and sister do dishes, all the while joking around with them. He still makes time in the kitchen fun! @creativeaddict Laur, hot out of the oven, these are crispy on the outside from the butter... The next day, split and covered with butter and run under the broiler, then they're good-and-like-fresh all over again! Thank you ALL so so much!
You are a lucky lady Louise! I always love your stories about what you and Ken have been doing! Your life seems full of love and laughter! Those scones look delicious! Never heard of pumpkin scones? I have always wondered what you did with all those pumpkins in the US!
Dearest Louise, oh, how I miss you here, even as I am stressing over the packing for the trip I am looking forward to your coming back to California in December when we return! I know we have both been busy with our lives, but that does not mean we don't think of each other. Hopefully, one of these days I will visit Lunenberg, your home away from home, and get one of those fab T-shirts! And, taste all the yummy things that Ken makes now in his retirement. It really fills my heart with joy to see you two having such a good time together and enjoying your lives to the fullest! And, dammit, Ken, those scones look absolutely yummy....by the time I was done reading all the comments above I was literally drooling on my keyboard! ;-)))
@dailypix It wasn't until I looked at this later that I saw the notepad sheets you sent...wanted you to see that I use them and think of you always!
Thank You Gloria Steinem! ♥ LOL*
