I don't need to write more about the wonderful time we've spent with the Academy Opera students. Today was their final recital an it brought the audience to their feet for "Encore!" Tonight was a wonderful cast party in the home of one of the LAMP supporters. There was another "Kitchen Party" with the students, of course, the host, who has a wonderful singing voice, two violinists, a flutist and his wife on the boron drum! Because "our kids" were leaving, we sang Christmas songs and wore a lot of holiday hats! Very festive! My friend, Ellen, asked me to take her photo with the singers, and this may be my best of the evening!
I may tell her she can buy me a cup of coffee when I give her this one!
Oh how,sad you must be to say goodbye to these wonderfully talented young people! I am sure they have loved their time at the Acadamy and especially all the wonderful hospitality they have been shown! A lovely early Christmas party! I am sure Ellen will be thrilled with this lovely capture!
I've loved following their progress through your photos and comments. It looks like it has been a success for group and hosts. Great group, and Ellen, capture
@digitalrn It's been an exceptional few weeks (7 weeks here, for some of them!) and they became to us like local friends. It was very quiet in town Monday night after they'd all flown home...
@digitalrn@pyrrhula@kelly2@novab@cruiser@jamibann@pamknowler My friend, Ellen there...she's the sister of the Music Director who brings all the classical programs to Lunenburg. Regarding the departure of these lovely young people, she said to me,
"We'll have to have coffee together and cry..."
That was a lot of friends to move out of town at once...
@panthora If they were one family, wouldn't this be a wonderful Christmas card? Even Ellen has just left for Newfoundland for the next 10 days...the kids all left Monday! I can't believe how much I miss everyone! Thanks for your fave. You would have done somersaults for these adorable "kids"!
@kevin365 ...you'll relate to the following in your own way, you and Jae... several times over the course of the evening, we locals would take the arm of a friend and say, "I can't believe this is real life!" Pretty magical!
@kevin365 I must ask...because it has happened to a couple of my other 365 friends and to me... Have I been unfollowed from your list? I don't see you as regularly as I did at the outset... Just thought I'd ask as I truly enjoy visiting you and Jae (and she never disappeared for periods of time!) Well, THAT was awkward,,, ♥
@Weezilou Ha! Never! Jae is more consistent. I move in bursts now. I do not feel that I have words anymore and that is a struggle as it is more about the pairing for me. You are an inspiration and a, most honored, a friend. Not awkward, honest and answered
@kevin365 whew...thank you... You, Kevin, are *The Words* at the top of day's 365 images, all. If you're using them judiciously, they'll be an even dearer gift when received...
Wish I had been there. (Sigh) It's such a different world you live in when you're over there. All the things you do just remind me of one big on-going Norman Rockwell party. All family and friends and good food and real seasonal changes. So different from here. Thanks for the pic of Mr Hunkalicious. : )
