I'd forgotten about Jerry's "One Night Stand" project, and by this evening when I read day one was to be minimalism, I began to look around for a subject...you'd think it might be so easy!
The I remembered I'd taken a photo of these grasses while waiting for Ken to run into the Post Office. "One grass" might have been better butas a scene it's pretty spare.
If you know of criteria for minimalism, I'd be grateful if you'd enlighten me! I do understand it in its simplest form, but has something like this gone too far?
I really like the play of the grass and the shadows. I'm petty fuzzy on a definition of minimalism too. One idea that struck me was to make it so simple that there's no story implied.
minimalism is taking simplicity to its logical extreme, stripping away as many elements as you can from the photo while it can still tell a coherent story to its audience. how are you, dahlin'? when do you guys go back to CA? still busy as ever? :-)
@summerfield ok...perhaps not as simple as it could have been... Thought about jumping on board about 8 last night and this was in the can... Considered trying for something "newer" and thought, "nah..." "SOOC", not THAT takes the pressure off! We're doin' great! Yesterday & today have been the first "catch up days" we've had in weeks! Small interuptions like physio and a haircut, but I'm determined to get some things done! (yes, "busy"!) A month from today we;ll be in CA, so LOTS to do before then! Wahhhhh :(
I don't know if I would call this minimalist, there is too much going on for that, but pretty shot nonetheless! See, to make it simple and clean you would have to strip too much stuff away, and that is never easy for us!! ;-)))
