"Alright Mr DeMille... I'm ready for my close-up"...
It would seem that the abundance of butterflies at San Diego's Safari Park exhibit were all the "Norma Desmond-type attention-crazed actresses", each vying for the best setting for their photos or making an attention-getting grab, alighting on shoulders, heads and even cameras! This latter was a sure bet they'd be photographed extensively by family members, friends and even strangers!
Here, The Common Blue Morpho, struck me as anything but *common*! Those beautiful markings lay flat when the wings were spread, revealing the iridescent turquoise interior!
Behind the camera, that's our 365 photographer, Anita Campbell @aglennc who shared the day with us and has already posted some butterfly photos of her own!
@aglennc I have *what I think* is a wonderful DOF image of Ken with the butterfly on his arm, but he doesn't like the way he looks! (Between you and me, it's just exactly what he looks like!) I hope you'll think this is as cute as I do!
I opened 365 a few minutes ago after being in San Diego all day, and your photo was the first to come up. LOVE IT! You nailed that one. Oh my!! What a gem....... Photobomber!! Thanks for posting. Got to fav this one. Would I do otherwise?!! And fun and humorous narrative too...... Your narratives are always so interesting, funny, perfect for your shots! (I'd like to see the photo of Ken!)
@sstcowan@mikegifford@salza@gaylewood@aglennc@gilbertwood@joannakate Thank you all for your response to this photo ! It was fun to go shooting with a friend I met because of 365. The butterfly exhibit was amazing with more butterflies flying everywhere than anything I'd ever seen!
We took our two year old to a smaller one of these enclosures, and she cried every time she saw the big owl butterfly- who had markings like this but was maybe twice the size? And what did I do as a responsible parent? Nothing but start threatening her that the big owl butterfly could leave the museum and show up any time she was misbehaving...
