No one ought to say, *It's just* the moon* ... That it exists, and that we exist beneath it is quite a remarkable miracle. Up here now in Nova Scotia, the ambient light is negligible and the skies are sparkling with stars! We sat out on the deck, talking as I took my photos, and marveled that we should be so fortunate as to have found this slice of Heaven itself! So this is MY moon, as seen from our deck. You have YOUR photos as well, but they lack the same coordinates as mine, so have a look. I'm happy to share ours view with you!
... of the silvery moon? Super shot Louise, indeed YOUR moon. I'm always fascinated to see moons from different places - although yours looks similar to mine now ;) but my reference when I see moon shots is always Tycho, the crater at the bottom.
@kerosene ...silvery moon, indeed! Thanks for the note and providing me with the "Learned something New Today" item... I'd never considered the names of the craters of the moon, but surely they're all mapped! And I guess we have a pretty straight shot to the moon from where we're living..cool!
A miracle, indeed! Taking the time to truly look at what surrounds us each day provides such rewards, and your commentary indicates you already knew that. I'm grateful you shared "your" moon with us. It's a beauty, and the details you captured are quite amazing!
A beautiful moon shot Louise!! I have just been in the garden with Finlay and was doing some moon watching as he was busy. My moon tonight is a crescent moon - it was a very thin sliver last night and just a bit bigger tonight. I love the detail in your shot!! Fav!!
@pamknowler Oh, I saw that beautiful moon on the rise last night! A real *WOW* of a crescent! We were taking new neighbours home after a music lecture about composing and I was ready to drop them off and head back out to take photographs! However, they invited us in (for the first time since they just moved here last August) so I figured I'd take photos another night! It was a good choice; the are fascinating people! Have a peek at his web site...he loves to draw dogs & they have two! www.haroldpearse.com He's an artist
Oh, my goodness! This is truly an incredible image of the moon! I haven't attempted moon shots and I can't imagine getting one as awesome as this. Well done, Louise! :-)
you are killing me, my friend. i still have Clyde's taste in my mouth with the garlic butter and the ice wine and the laughter. i'm dying, i ought to go to nova scotia! love your moon, so much like MY moon! :-)
