After the marvelous performance by these talented young musicians the night before, we invited Marie-Cristine Pelchat St-Jacques and Michael Bridge (sitting across from one another) to join Pouya Himidi and Adam Campbell (who'd stayed with us) to join us for breakfast. It was a great deal like having our own children and their spouses with us! Already we've made plans to welcome Adam back next year for a slated performance with his other group. Marie and I hit it off as she told me how much her mother's taste in decor and love of cats is akin to mine! We've stayed in touch and I have a little package ready to mail off to her (for her mother) on Monday...
I've given their full names as they have videos on Youtube that are not all with the Ladom Ensemble. As I said, "Talented!" and all so professional the evening before http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2016-06-02
You are definitely the hostess with the mostess! (I think that phrase is from an old tv ad) how lovely for these talented young people to be made so welcome in your home! You and Ken are stars! Fav!
@brillomick Thanks, Mickey. Our s-i-l & daughter are also a musicians, so it's fun to bring people like this to our home.
@tunia I always hope to give visitors a local experience ad I might like. My parents liked to entertain, and when I was a student in Guadalajara the summer I was 19, my roommate and I met a lady who invited us to her daughter's Saint's Day Party. It was such a special and unique experience to be included, that always stayed with me.
@pamknowler "Hostess with the Mostess" was Pearl Mesta...talk about trivial knowledge! I think she was actually known for throwing parties...NYC, probably. Personally, I think I get more than I give when people care enough to spend time in our home; we've had many lovely connections. See what I just wrote to Tunia, above... ...you probably give me more credit than we deserve... ; ) @gilbertwood@jamibann Thank you for the kind words. I should have made one large group reply!
