@frappa77 Ron @stray_shooter is a member of our Southern California circle. After a trip to the zoo as a group, he started posting a flamingo photo on Friday, saying "they are such goofy-looking birds". Joy @joysfocus was a part of this group and has joined in, as have I. I think we all take *way too many Flamingo shots* when we go to zoos, so there's plenty to draw from! We'd love to see what flamingos do for fun in Rome! Just tag them "flamingo-friday" and let one or another of us know you've posted something! Even Vikki @summerfield in Toronto has joined in, so there's a movement afoot! Have a good weekend Francesca!
Intriguing, and a bit foreign to this Aussie. Then I read the comments. sounds a fun project and I'm all for a smile or laugh. Are flamingoes widespread in North America?
@ethelperry Hi Ethel. I saw some flying and out wild in the Caribbean; perhaps they reside in Florida as well. Any photos I have, I've taken in zoos in Santa Barbara, Chicago and San Diego...come to think of it, I think every zoo I've ever been in has some flamingos! So that's where we all get our photos, but then, I just bought a plush one for my grand daughter and will probably use it before sending it to her. And if you're just dying to give it a go, no one says you can't snag one from the web to use in any sort of setting you wish... Just sayin'!
That is so cool! I see Cyrus is still under house arrest because he is still wearing his bracelet.
Please tell me how you accomplished this effect. P.S. layering?
The first thing that`s come up in my mind was: I`m looking to a René Magritte painting. After a second look I was sure of it. Beautiful fav. composition and capture
@pyrrhula WOW, Ferry!!! To be compared to a Magritte thrills my heart!! I adore his work!!! Thank you thank you! You made my day already and it's only noon! I found I loved doing this sort of layering...of course, as I've told you, back to the collage work that I enjoyed for years!
@allie912 Your wonderful message sent me for a refresher course in Dadaism, and I couldn't be more excited with what I came across! In effect, it was everything I'd been doing with materials before switching to digital! Even the styles they showed as "trending today" is what I was about! I loved it all, but had forgotten the terminology! When I was studying art, we weren't really doing anything in collage. Had we been, I might have stuck with it! Thanks again for sending me that direction! This was the article that excited me! https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/12/get-creative-with-collage-trends-and-inspiration/ (I also like the idea of placing it here to have on hand should I later wish to reference it!)
delightful 😁
