My friend, Judee, came down this afternoon for a visit, and to catch up since overall my active social life has been on the skids a bit this year. Time was, we had dinner together and played Scrabble every Monday night. Then we started "Margarita Monday" with Mexican dinners with an enlarged circle of friends. As the spring whittles down, we realize we need to seize moments to catch up, and tonight was a good one.
From my earliest days here, I posted a picture with Judee and Helen. https://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-04-13 Seven years later, we might not still be "spry", but we know how to share a companionable evening and a drink... (well, a couple of bottles, but it was a long afternoon into the evening!)
@ceilidh I've had people tell me about that Scrabble game on line! I wish I could find more hours in a day to do all I'd like to do! When Judee said she was just dropping by for an hour, we convinced her not to dash off, and an evening spent with a friend is the best use of time, I would agree, Margaret!
What a lovely portrait of you both Louise! How wonderful to have a friend of such long standing With whom you have so many shared memories! My great friend of 30 years sadly died a few years ago and I miss her so much. It's true what they say - you can't choose your family but you can choose your friends! They are to be treasured and I can see you do this with your friends! Looking great Louise by the way! Fav!
@pamknowler Ken's gets credit for this one! We were both happy with it. Our families have gone house boating together (close quarters for a week!) and she's been to Lunenburg twice. Along with our closest friends, there's hardly a high or low we haven't shared over that many years. I'm sorry to read you've lost your closest friend...they're irreplaceable!
"True friends are never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart." A good friend is such a treasure, this is a lovely photo, Louise, you look happy and healthy and beautiful as always. Judee has quite a sparkle in her eye!
Sounds fun. I miss seeing old friends, but we live too far from them. Maybe when my husband retires next year or the year after, we'll move closer to home.
