Family Footsteps ...

Life without Art Supplies would be unimaginable to me!

My grandmother enjoyed photography.
My father did a lot of photography and art as a recreational diversion. My mother did every sort of art and craft.
I grew up with an art-saturated life, and studied Fashion Design.
Our daughters had access to all the art supplies they wished to use.
Daughter, Heather, created art journals from a very young age, got her Masters in Art Therapy, and creates art everyday,
Now Hazel's Mommies, Heather and Tina, encourage the art abilities in both children, and I'd sent them a box-full of my old rubber stamps and new markers. They played ...and I took pictures...

A legacy of Family Togetherness!
Your artistic creative nature definitely runs in the family Louise. How blessed you were to be brought up in such an environment. My Dad painted his first picture when he was 65 years old - he had never had a lesson in his life - he left school at a very early age and art was never a part of his life. His paintings were very good even though he had no understanding of perspective. I think his work would be called naive. My brother however was an artist and sold his work for lots of money. I cannot draw or paint at all even having had many lessons. Thankfully I can take a photo and create a picture that way. Isn't it funny how life can influence you. Thank goodness for digital cameras and editing software!!
I love this shot of Hazel she is really enjoying herself!! Fav!

This is one adorable little artist!!!! Hazel is so precious!!! I can't imagine a childhood not filled with art supplies. Such a critical part of imagination and creativity. Having a creative grandmother and moms doesn't hurt either. Enjoy your time with your sweet little grand buddies!

Hi Louise. It's me boysami. I had been a follower of your project for years. So happy to get back on the project and still find you here! I have been off the project for quite awhile, during the loss of my husband and trying to find my new "normal". I was horrified to login to my account and find all my photos had been wiped off. You are the only one I know that might be able to help me. I have tried and tried to find a way to get ahold of Ross to see if there is anything I can do to recover my photos (No, I never became an ACE member, despite all my good intentions, so if all is lost is probably MY fault). Have you ever contacted Ross yourself, and do you haven idea of his email address. Everything I try keeps bouncing back..... Thanks in advance. At least I can still get on the sight to see everyone else beautiful photos!

@scrivna Hi Ross... Linda here was active a few years back, and if you see her note above @boysami she's been absent for a while. I believe that without an account, her series is gone, but I think she'd feel better to understand if she heard it from you. I encourage others to secure an ACE account if only to support and sustain this community.
@boysami I'd happily welcome you back as a follower and reciprocate as well! You're a friend of Sue Bisgard, I believe, if I recall correctly. Join in again and I can put you in touch again with several others who've been here as long as I have. "Welcome Home"!

Nearly every child is an artist. A pitty some loose it on the way getting older. What a sweet capture of this sweet artist girl .
(I`m the only artist one in my (big)family.)

@pyrrhula EVERY child is born with the talent! All they need, like a flower that grows, is nurturing and encouragement! Throw the sunshine of a smile upon their work and anything's possible!

You captured her perfectly. I like the perspective as I feel like I am right there with her.

Totally agree, my elder granddaughter is doing her final year of secondary school and finds her artwork a wonderful way to relax from a hectic study schedule.

"An art saturated life"....there may not be a better life anywhere, than that. Looks like you are making sure Hazel and Bodhi have their very own art-filled lives. Just wonderful!

A lovely capture, it saddens me to think that so many children grow up without the opportunity to experience art and creativity.

Wonderful to read about your grand daughter freely encouraged to be creative and having fun doing so! All thanks to her precious family.

Thank you so much, Louise, for getting ahold of Ross for me! I appreciate it t so much. Unfortunately there was nothing he could do, as the account had been closed. I am saddened by not only the loss of my personal photos, but also of all my saved favorites of everyone else's photo's. And yes, that just shows you how important an ace account is!

Fav. Love your portrait and story. I had my 3 grandchildren come to my home nearly everyday for years and they loved the formal art lessons I organised for them. Now one is studying graphic design and another works in advertising in branding.
