Walden Pond West by Weezilou

Walden Pond West

One of those mornings when I went out and fed the ducks and two squirrels showed up. Fed them and two crows began to caw at me. Left them peanuts and the hummingbird flew around my head! (I'm quite sure I know the area where she's built a nest; I'll be watching for that when I have a bit more time.) I photographed the cat and let him out (he doesn't bother any of them) and considered doing a storyboard of what I'd photographed in fifteen minutes, but decided to work on just one for now. I really enjoyed playing with this one!

Thank you for putting Tigger on the Popular Page...he was in great need of some loving!
Sounds like you live in a wildlife park! What fun to see all those creatures almost at once. Great image.

@dide I laugh that it often feels as though I've been given the wonderful responsibility of catering to all these delightful birds and animals! I tag my backyard pictures "Peaceable Kingdom"...we've had A LOT of company over the years!

Love your processing, he’s a beautiful Mallard. We can just call you Dr. Doolittle!

@louannwarren Thanks Lou Ann! I had a lot of fun with that one! It was "pretty enough", but I couldn't leave well-enough alone! Marnie @golftragic has been calling me that for several years now! The funniest comment ever was several years ago when I have a squirrel I could hand feed... She wrote, "Are you a Disney Princess?" Well, I couldn't stop laughing!!! I truly am at one with my back-yard family here!

Love the texture.

A wonderful capture Louise. I also took photos of mallards and squirrels today. What a wonderful thought to know we were taking photos of the same subjects, but living so far apart (for the time being). :)

Really like the effect, the tones, and his reflection. Looks like he was a good model!

You are an inspiration. Now, where are the local ducks hiding? I circled the park today and didn't find any.

great colors and so artistic!

I love the woven look! You should do a line of fabric when not feeding your very own wildlife park! Dr. Doolittle, I presume? :)
