Now that we're back in Nova Scotia, (and I love this time of year!), I want to share the beauty of it all. When we drove home from the airport on Tuesday I was surprised to see so little fall colour, and yet, only 3 days later (and a steady gentle rain) I can see it's ready to happen! Ferry @Pyrrhula thought we were having Indian Summer, but that's typically hot, dry weather. This is "mild and humid", but it seems to be just what it'll take to set the colours in motion! If it stays warm when the sun comes out, this is the perfect setting for "an Indian Summer"!
Canadian Thanksgiving is just over a week away and I think it will be a beautiful one!
A sign of promise! Fingers crossed it’s at its best when I get there next month! I have noticed in the last few days our trees here in the UK are turning into the autumn colours. Different colours to you though Louise more golden than red.
gorgeous! We still have mostly green leaves - the temps need to get into the single digits at night and warm in the daytime to stop chlorophyll production.
we were searching for a tree, any tree, today with red leaves for jackie to take home to the UK but all are still almost green around downtown. i believe it will be a beautiful canadian thanksgiving as the cold is slowly settling in and the rain and damp are doing their best to give us the burst of colours. glad it's starting from there and hopefully it'll come our way, too. so wonderful to see.
We're so fortunate to have access to this sort of beauty when people come here from around the world just to see the change of colour in the fall! On Thanksgiving day a few years ago the colour was magnificent! Hoping for more of the same as we have friends visiting from North Carolina.
